Pakistani begs and China sends 50 3G JF17 aircrafts in Charity

I thought that PAF is incompetent, but know I feel that they are bunch of idiots of highest order, with this Junk fighter they want to take on USAF.

At least PAF should have asked for more radars from China.

Its not a 4th gen fighter, its a 3rd gen fighter. As one of the British NATO pilots who flew it stated. Its an 3rd gen fighter with extensive use of Aluminum and a mechanical scanned radar.

The emergency order will take 5 years any decent warplane takes 1 month roughly to build.

Chinese don't have indigenous radars for their planes or any engine either.

It only costs 15 million, what can we expect for that price? Seriously even if the Chinese artificial manipulate the cost of materials what can you get for that price? I am sure those LCD monitors in the JF-17 are meant to run Hindi movies when the pilot gets bored on long sorties towards Delhi!

With 15 Million a piece, do we expect composites, advanced Radars and Avionics? We signed 250 million deal for modernizing the engines of 60 Mig-29s which puts each engine cost at 4 million. If the Chinese buy the engine at 4 million a peace rest of the aircraft costs 11 million. For 11 million if you get some stickers and paint job done, i dont get where you get the rest of the stuff from!

The below is my argument for this issue. Just couple of examples
1. J10 domestic radar
Chengdu J-10 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"the J-10 uses a multi-mode fire-control radar designed in China."

2. J11B radar
"the PLAAF decided to modernize the J-11 with domestic radar, avionic suites, manufacture methods and material upgrades to extend the life of the aircraft in service."
Shenyang J-11 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

3. JH7A Radar
JL-10A - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

4. JF17 Radar
"In November 2007 it was reported that the PAF and PAC were conducting flight evaluation of the SBP aircraft fitted with a variant of the NRIET KLJ-10 radar, designed and built by China's Nanjing Research Institute for Electronic Technology (NRIET), and the LETRI SD-10 active radar homing air-to-air missile"

5. Indigenously engine for J11B/BS/15/10B
Shenyang WS-10 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

i must say, pakistan has guts to go around begging with no dignity and shame!

anyway, regarding the 50 planes, do the PAF have the required number of pilots to fly these 50 planes!

Fifty Thunder jets for Pakistan

BEIJING: China will immediately provide 50 JF-17 Thunder aircraft to Pakistan, an official said here on Wednesday.

"We will get these planes in weeks," he said, adding that a formal agreement to that effect was likely to be signed on Thursday.

The official said Pakistan and China were already jointly producing the JF-17 aircraft, but these 50 planes would be equipped with more sophisticated avionics. He said the war planes to be fully funded by China would help bolster Pakistan's defence and add to tactical capability of its air force.

APP adds: Ambassador to China Masood Ahmed Khan said China would provide over $400 million to Pakistan, including $100 million in soft credit and a grant of 70 million RMB, for the post-flood reconstruction and development projects.—Staff Reporter

This news is very FUNNY

Pakistan wants HARD CASH .So that it can break the US stranglehold and say bye bye to IMF

Pakistan has already decided to get 250 JF 17 planes

Basically Gilani went to Pakistan for hard CASH and these JF 17 were already supposed to be bought by Pakistan

SO is Pakistan trying to prove to its people that 50 immediate JF 17 will will stop US from Kicking its A$$

This is desperate move to shore up some numbers, as it seems there F 16 fleet will be grounded most of the times for the lack of spares. Also, they are hedging against non availability of F 16 with JF 17 against India, with continuous additions of MKI, there chance of putting any resistance against the IAf is depleting very fast.

All in all more of bravado rather then anything meaningful

I think China is planning to get rid of Those JF 17 as those planes will be target practice even for Vietnam Airforce as they are also getting better planes from Russia . They also know that nothing impress common people in Pakistan more than weapons even though its junk. They are just playing smart and building goodwill among pakistani people.

If China is aiding Pakistan at this juncture means China is showing to India that it will keep on fighting us to the last Pakistani and also signalling to the USA that if you abandon Pakistan, we will continue to prop it up.

It is high time that world communities takes cognizance of Chinas aggressive foreign policy and acts appropriately and decisively.
