Pakistan bans JuD, LeT, JeM

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government has banned 25 religious and other organisations, including the Jamaat-ud-Dawah, Jaish-e-Mohammed and
Lashker-e-Taiba, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry presented a list of the banned organisations in the National Assembly or lower house of parliament. It also said the Sunni Tehrik had been put on a watch list.

Among the organisations included in the list of outlawed groups are JuD, LeT, JeM, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariah Muahammadi, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Al-Akhtar Trust, Al-Rasheed Trust, Tehreek-e-Islami, Islamic Students Movement, Khair-un-Nisa International Trust, Islami Tehreek-e-Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Islam, Balochistan Liberation Army, Jamiat-un-Nisar, Khadam Islam and Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan.

A majority of the groups have been linked to terrorist attacks and suicide bombings in Pakistan. India has blamed the JuD, LeT and JeM for several attacks on its soil, including the Mumbai attacks and the 2001 assault on the Indian parliament.

Pakistan banned the JuD after the UN Security Council declared it a front for the LeT in December last year. The LeT and JeM were banned by the country in 2002.

Responding to a question in the National Assembly, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the federal government had banned the 25 organisations and entities under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.

Three of the banned organizations -- JuD, Al-Akhtar Trust and Al-Rasheed Trust -- had been included in the UN Security Council resolution no 1267, he said.

Law enforcement agencies closely monitor the activities of these groups and "stern action is taken against those which indulge in objectionable activities," Malik said.

ISLAMABAD: Government has banned 25 religious as well as welfare organizations across the country, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Ministry of Interior has issued a new list of the banned organizations. The new list was presented before the National Assembly in writing.

The list includes names of Al-Qaeda, Sipah-e-Muhammed, Tehreek-e-Jafaria, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Jamat-ud-Da’wa, Al-Akhtar Trust, Al-Rasheed Trust, Tehreek-e-Islami, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Lashkar Jhangvi, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Islamic Students Movement, Khair-un-Nisa International Trust, Tehreek-e-Islam Pakistan, Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat Muahammadi, Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, Lashkar-e-Islam, Balochistan Liberation Army, Jamiat-e-Ansar, Jamiatul Furqan, Hizb-e-Tehreer, Khiddam-e-Islam and Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan.

Sunni Tehreek has been placed in the watch list.

In real these bans are nothing but to show the international community and GoI that pakistan will clamp down on outfits . but the official policy of Pakistani establishment is to always put Kashmir issue in limelight and keeping this agenda in mind these outfits were armed , funded and trained by Pakistani establishment .

Now GoI should be more careful and dont come in this trap

One just need to see the clear picture of double game played in Pakistan. While the gov't members will kowtow based on foriegn policy (Aid from the US), while the other ISI and Army (which are same) control the real action on the ground. There are numerous example of this, LeT is banned and given permission just few months after the mumbai attacks to open under a different name, and held a rally for Kashmir freedom under assumed new name. The hypocracy of Pakistan trying to be not transparent is clearly laid out in the open just by actions of there rogue organizations.

No wonder US is probably startegically pondering the future of Pakistan, and the work it's required to keep the state under control. The formula for disaster is clear from Pakistan, where ISI is controlling these freedom movement based on Mujahideen movement and philosophy to these freedom fighter (terrorist), and likewise the linkage to al queda is even greater, with the talibans help to them.

Until there is no change to the authority structure of Pakistan, we will see this ongoing banning and reopening for future to come.

No Lashkar, JuD militant in Pak's most wanted terrorists' list

ISLAMABAD: No militant belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba or its charity organisation, Jamaat-ud-Daawa, has been in included in the Pakistan’s top 10 most wanted terrorists list.

JuD chief Hafiz Saeed along with other top LeT commanders has been accused of masterminding the deadly Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008, in which 179 people were killed.

According to well-placed Interior Ministry sources in Islamabad, Pakistan’s top ten most wanted terrorists belong to six militant and sectarian organisations linked to al-Qaeda and the Taliban who are still at large and adamant to pursue their Jehadi agenda.

Four of the ten wanted militants are affiliated with the TTP; two belong to the LeJ while one each is associated with the TNSM, the JeM, the HuJI and the LeI.

They include Maulana Fazlullah of the Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), Hakimullah Mehsud, Qari Hussain Mehsud, Maulvi Faqeer Mohammad and Waliur Rehman of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Matiur Rehman and Qari Zafar of the LeJ, Maulana Ilyas Kashmiri of the Harkatul Jehadul Islami (HUJI), Rashid Rauf of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Mangal Bagh of the Lashkar-e-Islami (LeI).
