Pak troops thank Indian Army for repatriating soldier

fullstory

Pakistani troops have thanked the Indian Army for its gesture in repatriating a soldier who had inadvertently crossed into North Kashmir last month.

"Thank you very much. We appreciate this friendly gesture. We offer thanks for this and I am sure this gesture is actually a true reflection of the ceasefire agreement," Pakistani delegation leader Lt Col Mazhar said at a flag meeting held on December 30.

The Pakistani jawan -- Sarfaraz Ahmed of Mujahid brigade, a paramilitary force -- was handed over to Pakistani authorities after the Army was convinced that he had accidentally strayed into Indian territory.

An Army spokesman said today that the Pakistani soldier was also presented a watch, five kg of sweets and dry fruits, a hand-stitched carpet and a Quran stand.

Ahmed had strayed into the Indian territory on December 28 last.

Is this news authentic ?

They encourage militants to kill our soldiers and snipe our men at any given chance ...how do you think militants will be moving at a height of 15000 feet....and look what we do.

I dont mean killing the pak soldier...atleast he should have been arrested.

Lest we forget Lt Kalia.

I am highly shocked the way some members have reacted to this welcome news. Yes, we have send back Pak Soldier who mistakenly strayed into Indian territory, it doesn't display our coward image rather as a true responsible armed entity who know how to do the justice. Even some years back, when one of the Indian Helicopter Cheetah crashed somewhere in Siachin, it was Pakistani soldiers who rescued Indian crew and pilots and returned them to India.

At least that Pakistani soldier will thanks IA for showing some sense instead of deep vested hatred as is seen in some individuals.

How does one 'accidently' cross the border?
Either this solder is really clueless (DUMB) OR was on some kind of mission.

Guys some times it so happens...... things do happen by mistake, this must be bonafide case, yeah i too wonder if our jawan, would have crossed over by mistake, or he would have lost track, while on petrol (as it is some times very difficult to identify our area from their area) would those Pakistani would have done the same thing.

Any way the good start has been made, lets hope those pakistani would do the same thing if one of ours lost track.
