Pak accuses India of terror; India calls it preposterous
NDTV Correspondent

As Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says there is no question of dialogue with Pakistan until there is proof of action against those responsible for 26/11, the police in Lahore have accused India of having links with the attack on the Sri Lankan cricketers on March 3.

New Delhi has responded by calling the claims preposterous. The Prime Minister also accused Pakistan of continuing to try and divert public attention.

Police in Pakistan also suspect an Indian hand in the attack on the police training school
in Manawan on March 30.

"With the help of other intelligence agencies, there has been considerable progress in this case. One thing is for sure that there is an Indian hand behind the attack," said Pervez Rathore, police chief, Lahore.

India, however, is not taking these claims seriously.

"This is a preposterous claim, a red herring. India has been a victim itself, never has it been blamed for such a thing," said Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma.

There are reports that six people, including an alleged Indian spy, have been arrested by Pakistani authorities for suspicious activities in Sinhala area of Rawalpindi.

Pakistan police say the spy was carrying maps of Pakistani cities and important phone numbers. But until their investigations are over, they will not give out the name and other details of the alleged spy.

A simple word can describe this Pakistani allegation that is, this allegation is 'Rubbish'. They issued contradictory statements regarding the casualties, could not figure out actual number of attackers in Manwan , could not arrest any body in 3rd March attack, and after 'ruling out' they again started playing old broken records.

I read that Rehman Malik (Pakistan`s Interior Minister) denied any Indian involvement:

Latest from Pak: No Indian hand in Lankan team attack
NDTV Correspondent
Saturday, April 11, 2009, (Islamabad)

A day after the Lahore police said that there was evidence of an Indian involvement in the attack on the Lankan cricket team, Pakistan Interior Ministry has said that there is no clue of Indian hand in the attack.

The Lahore police had on Friday alleged India's involvement in the Lahore attack. They had also said that there was evidence of an Indian link in the recent attacks on police facilities in Pakistan.

Referring to the terror threats during the general elections in India, Rehman Malik said that India should share information about the threat with Pakistan.

Malik also talked about the Swat peace deal, saying that Taliban have not complied with the deal.

Good update Mehwish, I think they once again flip flopped, Police Chief comes with blaming us, while Minister denied that.
