Pak High Commissioner-Hurriyat meeting ill-timed, could have been avoided: Sartaj Aziz

Pak High Commissioner-Hurriyat meeting ill-timed, could have been avoided: Sartaj Aziz : India, News - India Today

=====================

"The timing of the meeting between Pakistan High Commissioner to India and the Hurriyat leaders was not right and it could have been avoided. The newly-elected leaders of both the countries missed an opportunity of starting a dialogue."

Big U turn :taunt:

There is no doubt that the Pak High commissioner had no business to a meeting with with Hurriyat ahead of the India-Pak Secretary level talks.

But while Sartaz Aziz may regret, the greater regret for the world is that it is not the democratically elected Govt that calls the shot, but the Pak Army.

Therefore, the meeting was but as per plan charted out by the Pak Army.

@Ray sir; whats your opinion on to invite and held talks with the pak army chief instead of sharif govt in relation to maintain peace in the sub continent and also about the kashmir issue.

Recognise the army as the ruling body and not the sharrif govt.

India speaks to the official Govt wherever it is.

India does not recognise that any Army is not subordinate to the democratically elected Govt.

And who is the Army to decide the foreign policy of a country?

For if they do, it is not a country, but a sham democracy, and Pakistan is a sham democracy as Musharraf had said.

Actually Mr Modi's mature and statesmanlike speech at the UN GA has exposed the low standard and thought contained in the Pakistan PM's speech'

Pakistan stands exposed as a Nation that is still in its embryonic state, while India, having got Independence one day later, has made great stride and is marching ahead shoulder to shoulder with the greatest Nations of the World.

Hence, the embarrassed cooing emanating from the Pakistani worthies to salvage their lost pride, which in any case, they can never regain, try as they might.

What has really got the Pakistanis' goat is that Modi has been invited to White House, while Sharif has been told to take the first flight out.

UN should put pressure on pak to stop its terror camps that its using against India. Why such duplicitous stance by UN, ISIS terrorism shouldn't be overlooked and dealt with, but pakistan terrorism is ok?

Just like Israel is a creation of USA and it cannot shun it. Pakistan is a creation of the west ( USA and UK) so, the bar for action against PAK is indeed high.

Nitpicking here... though India "gained independence" a day after Pakistan (which is a rather meaningless turn of history), India as a civilization is thousands of years old. Pakistanis have no civilizational memory or heritage.

You are right, but read Pakistan's contrived history.

Pakistan, as per them, is as old as Time itself!

India is after an after thought and an appendage to the great glorious Pakistan!

That mentality is so evident in that they declared themselves one day ahead as independent!

Let us not read too much into what Sartaj said. If you see the interview it was like Barkha Dutt cross examining poor old man. It looked like her questions were targeted for extracting this quote from Sartaj Aziz.

In other words it looked like burka has written the article first and interview later.

Ok.

So you are calling Bukra Dutt a Pak sympathiser?

Maybe.

She did embarrass the last PM with Sharif's private comment that Manmohan Singh was a Punjabi gossiping village woman wailing to the headman.

Manmohan Singh, Nawaz Sharif and the 'dehati aurat'
The news that Pakistan's Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, called his Indian counterpart a 'dehati aurat' (rustic woman) was sufficiently played up by media on both sides. Mian Nawaz Sharif denies using such language for Manmohan Singh. Indeed, the Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, who was part of the private meeting, denied hearing any derogatory remark about the Indian prime minister. Notwithstanding the fact that it is against journalistic norms to publicly report an off-the-record conversation, there is a possibility that Mian sahib might have used the term very privately to vent his frustration about the Indian premier discussing India-Pakistan relations with American President Barack Obama.

This fool woman also did harm during the Kargil Ops.

She thinks she is above India and Indian interests.

I am not saying she is a pak sympathiser. However I am saying she sacrifices journalism ethics for sensationalism. Problem seems to be that now this wrong practice is spreading through out ndtv crew.

Sir, this very same women created problems for the security forces by her reporting on the 26/11 attack giving out the operation details to the handlers in Karachi...

Now this is interesting. Why do I see a pattern here. She seems to be involved particularly in stories that give a negative twist in indo-pak relations .

We also have to remember that Shekhar gupta and ndtv were partially instrumental in vajpayee's bus visit to pak.

Thats a big 10,000 KM U-Turn.

Thats a BIG BIG admission and shows it was Pakistan responsible for talks cancellation.

This clearly means Ganja Sharif LIED in front of the world at UNGA once again and has no credibility at all AND MODI's speech made Pakis made a U-turn.

Now would Pakis say it's his personal views and not official stance of Govt of Pakistan? :pound:
