Because we can't continuosly keep dragging the same design for years after years, we need to make new design for project 18.

IEP will be there as even lhd are proposed with IEP .

Mogami is highly underarmed for its tonnage . U don't want it in ngd , if u am sure .

With regards to the CIWS than Indian Navy is looking towards a gun+Missile combination for CIWS on its future ships and for this , Pantsir M fits the bill.

Vlsrsam will go surely into ngd , we will have a dedicated vls for that .

Indigenous radar is in testing , s band is in testing , c band surveillance radar is not hard to develop , we have ground based BSR , similar to revathi development ,it can be modified too .
X band is developed in form of ins dhruv . If they want .

L band option is based on green pine and subsequent lrtr and vlrtr .

Ciws is not in my knowledge

Anything new on ngd from ur side .

Till now ,we have mdl preparation for ngd , basic info of requirement from navy . Some open source info regarding various components in development or developed

It's supposed to be a nuclear powered Destroyer cruiser or something like that, we could try and make something like it and we could remove that Problem of that Top heavy structure which might cause it to capsize in rough sea states. Anyways let's see what DND is offering to bring to the table with regards to project 18.

Even if the profile is reduced, making something is large nowadays makes little sense as the Russians simply cannot afford anything of this magnitude. This has been proved by the fact that the Kremlin only approved Super Gorshkov project to go ahead, while suspending work on the Liders and that's the right way to go about keeping their force levels up.

Yes I agree with that part but the rest is fine right? Remove the tall mast because it might affect center of balance of the Ship which is something which is not good in rough seas, so we can reduce the height of the Mast ,rest everything is fine and good! low profile Destroyer with good stealth, if we could make something like the Lider than it would be sick, imagine full Pak Navy will piss their pants after seeing something like that heading towards them.

This drifts into the realm of fantasy, and technically such "Capital" ships prove pretty much useless when actual hostilities break out as they become too valuable to be expended in any Naval operation. Just ask the Japanese, they built the Yamato, Musashi and Shinano and yet all three were prompty dispatched off as other military targets when the opportunity presented themselves. Rather building smaller, more numerous and yet equally heavily armed vessels and unmanned craft is the way to go.

All of those 128 vls cannot be universal cells like Mk-41. Atleast 32 of them should be special cells to carry Hypersonic Anti-Ship Missiles & Ship based SMART. Remaining can be Universal VLS.

Ya'll Nibbiars with the emergence of BDM such large Cruiser are needed the modus operandi is different from the WW 2 battleship so can't compare it with that. And in future the Sea based BMD may become a necessity with the emergence of more anti ship or Hypersonic ballastic or cruise missiles. And need for larger terminal ABM missiles may be for the fleet defences.

Let navy issue design first
It will take time and first destroyer might be only inducted post 2030 if it gets quicker approval

If we go for Rolls Royce MT30 turbines with IEP, then 100% the p15 design lineage will HAVE to be junked.

If we stick with Zorya-Mashproekt turbines, then no.
