Cow protection was important in agrarian economies. Today obsession over cow protection only leads to stray cattle on the streets, starving and eating plastic. If cow slaughter is not banned, then our streets would be clean without any cows/cow dung, plus the meat industry would make profits and provide jobs for millions. But forget about clean streets and employment, let's worship cows.

The concept of evaluating values against economic gain or loss itself is contradictory to our Indian ethos. It is a total materialism which is a mis fit against the values for which our society has always stood for.

We are not a country which has evaluated everything in terms of money. Cow was the backbone of our economy for centuries. Every product of cow is useful in one way of other. If used properly, Cow dung and urine has enough power to uplift Indian economy by providing free fertilizer and insecticides to each farm of India and improving agriculture yield providing us much better quality organic food very good for health. Cow urine is patented for cancer drugs.

If you go to Europe or US and say them that your dog has become old, why don't you kill and eat it. They will hold you from collar and say what nonsense you are talking. Dog is the best friend of human. How can we kill and eat it. Now so called Neo gray skin Westerners do this argument to kill cow because it has grown old. If a society starts thinking like this, it will extend to human as well. Nobody will take care of their parents because they have grown old. This so called growing old and becoming useless is a BS concept and never acceptable to a society with faith like us.

Very correct. The society which evaluate values against economics is a BS society and bound to collapse. We do not pray any economist but we pray and worship those who stood for the values and fought for it irrespective of consequences.

Pakur/New Delhi: The clash between police and a violent marauding mob of extremist Muslims on Bakrid on Wednesday in Pakur district of Jharkhand received at best a sketchy reportage from national and local media, but MyNation unearthed that it was a deliberate and pre-planned attempt by extremist elements aimed at repeating the gutting of Kaliachak police station in the neighbouring Malda district of Bengal in early 2016.

The immediate cause of the flare-up was slaughtering of nearly half-a-dozen cows on the campus of a primary school near the local Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Dangapada village. While the top officials of the local administration including the deputy commissioner (DC) and the superintendent of police (SP) responded to the crime, they realised through the clash that they had been targeted under a plan and ran the risk of losing their lives.

The call for killing the officials, gutting the office building of the sub-divisional police officer in which they were holed when violence broke out and for cow slaughter came allegedly from the parapets of several mosques in the vicinity of the village and the most violent in the mob had come from neighbouring Bengal. The calls to action were accompanied by chants of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

Of the spate of FIRs lodged by the local administration, MyNation accessed that from the DC Dilip Kumar Jha and the Block Development Officer (BDO) Bhola Mandal and the story they have told in there is spine chilling.

A call was received on police emergency number 100 on Wednesday at 10:15 at the Maheshpur police station. The caller, a chowkidar, complained that cow slaughter was underway in the primary school. The station incharge along with the BDO and several constables responded to the call and reached the spot at 11:15.

According to the DC, the responding contingent saw “cow being slaughtered by slitting their throats”. “Upon further investigation, it was learnt that many other cattle had been slaughtered at another place, all under orders from a Maulvi,” the DC’s FIR added.

Both the FIRs note that videography of the crime scene revealed that “severed heads of cows, skin, bones of the denture, and blood” were strewn all over the place along with 10 kilograms of beef.

It is an act of war and a Civilizational War is going on in India. A youtube search with search string "pakur" reveals that pakur in Jharkhand is a happening place. It borders Muslim majority areas of WB it seems. Pakur SP and 4 cops died 5 years back against a naxal attack. Just 6 months back, police had raided PFI training centres in pakur. And just 1 month back Swami Agnivesh was thrashed by BJYM in pakur!
