Elbit Systems Ltd., a defense contractor, said on Thursday it got a contract of about $173 million, over a period of five years, to provide naval remote controlled weapon stations (RCWS) to the navy and coast guard of an unnamed Asia-Pacific country.
Under the contract, Elbit Systems will provide lightweight, naval RCWS to be installed on board a wide range of vessels.
The naval RCWS that will be supplied feature a 12.7mm machine gun and ammunition, Elbit Systems’ advanced fire control system, and the company’s modular electro-optic suite.
“I am confident that the demand for the weapon stations we offer will continue to grow, as customers increasingly recognize our unique capacity to draw on an exceptionally broad portfolio to provide comprehensive operational solutions,” Yehuda (Udi) Vered, general manager of Elbit Systems Land and C4I, said in a filing to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Elbit is a tech firm that develops a wide range of defense, homeland security and commercial systems that are sold globally. The firm, whose shares are listed in Tel Aviv and on the Nasdaq, operates in the fields of aerospace, land and naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance systems, among others.

In logon ko naukri se nikal k OFB ko kisi baniye ko bech dena chahiye. Wo in kaamchoro se kam karwaenge kutto ki tarah. Jab China hmare soldiers mar rha tha, ye kuttey protest kar rhe they. Ek soldier k death k badley 1 dabbawala babu ko mar dalna chahiye.
Ha bahi, strategic asset ko kisi bhi baniye ko bech do.
Desh to baniyon ka hai na bhai , koi strike na hoga plus bjp cannot rein in fake farm protest , they won't do anything.

The OFB employees’ Federations and Associations have opposed the Government decision to corporatize OFB. The employees’ Federations have intimated vide letter dated 29.06.2021 that they would serve strike notice on 08.07.2021 and would commence indefinite strike from 26.07.2021. However, no such notice has been received till date.

The Government has held various discussions with the OFB employees’ Federations and Associations regarding the corporatisation of OFB under the Chairmanship of Secretary (Defence Production). Their concerns and suggestions were noted. Their main concern about safeguarding the interests of the employees of OFB has been adequately addressed. It is pertinent to mention that Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) also held discussions with Government & OFB Federations as part of the conciliation process under the Industrial Disputes Act 1947.

Regular interactions are being held with the stakeholders by the Government. The Defence Minister also held meeting with the recognised Defence Civilian employees’ Federations on 16.07.2021 and appealed them to continue discussions with the Department.

This information was given by Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt in a written reply to Shri M Shanmugam and Shri Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar in Rajya Sabha today.

INDIA DETAILS OFB CORPORATISATION PLAN
THURSDAY, JULY 29, 2021 BY INDIAN DEFENCE NEWS

The Indian government has disclosed more information about its plan to restructure its network of 41 defence factories presently operating under the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB).

In details revealed in the Indian parliament on 26 July, Ajay Bhatt, minister of state for defence, confirmed that the OFB would be reorganised into seven state-owned defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence (MoD's) Department of Defence Production (DDP).

In fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21 India's OFB recorded total turnover of INR209.57 billion (USD2.8 billion), 13% of total defence-sector sales in India over those two years. (Indian MoD)

He said the restructure – described by the MoD as ‘corporatisation' – is intended to “enhance [the OFB's] functional autonomy, efficiency and unleash new growth potential and innovation”.

Details provided by Bhatt show that the largest of the new DPSUs will be the ‘Ammunitions and Explosives' entity, which will comprise 12 existing OFB factories. The Weapons and Equipment DPSU will comprise eight factories; Vehicles will have five; Ancillary (eight); Troop Comfort Items (four); Opto-electronics (three); and Parachute (one).

The OFB's administrative base is in Kolkata but its facilities are spread across the country, although nearly half are located within two states: Uttar Pradesh in the north and Maharashtra in the western peninsular region of India.

Bhatt confirmed that the decision to corporatize the factories was taken by India's Cabinet in July. The move, he said, will “convert” the OFB into wholly owned “government corporate entities”. As such, the corporate entities will be encouraged to pursue profits and to bid for competitive contracts.
