Obama may be double standard, but he is honest!

Finally ,Obama tells us the true mentality of west guys.0_0

Merkel once said that it was because Indian started having dinners that food price in Germany rose.

Now, Obama declared that it is a catastrophy if Chinese become as rich as Yankees.

You know if you talk to Chinese leaders I think they will acknowledge immediately that if over a billion Chinese citizens have the same living patterns as Australians and Americans do right now then all of us are in for a very miserable time, the planet just can't sustain it, so they understand that they've got to make a decision about a new model that is more sustainable that allows them to pursue the economic growth that they're pursuing while at the same time dealing with these environmental consequences.

This is the real problem, if India still growing, India will face the same problems as China at present, political, environmental, societal, etc.

BG Obama is telling the Chinese you cannot have the Western way of life because it is unsustainable, resources are scarce and you should not be greedy, any dispute over resources may turn into a military conflict as it always has thruout history.

Obama said it is impossible for Chinese to become as rich as Yankees. Not enough resources on the planet. Just confirms what I have been saying all along.

Chinese coal production will peak in 2015
Population peak in 2015
Water peak in 2015

The writing is on the wall, you do not have the resources to attain the Western living standard. You will be lucky to make it to $10,000.

Even if they rich, it wont be a problem. Problem comes when they starts to spend as in their own lines which is not going to happen for sure in anytime in this and next century. So why panic

Why should India and China have to make that 'sustainable' decision? Why not the west? After nearly two centuries of hardships Chinese and Indians have every right to have living standards of their choice.

just because the west is being irresponsible doesnt mean we have the right to do the same. Besides, the US can afford the life style it enjoys because their population isn't as large as ours or China's, and their land mass is greater. If all Indians or Chinese start driving SUVs, have multiple cars, waste water and electricity, pollute like theres no tomorrow (which we're already doing), then this world will be doomed.

That being said there is no reason the US should be allowed to be a polluter and resource-waster. They also need to change their life styles.

Population density matters too: India has 360 people per square kilometre, US has 32. China has 139. China and India both need to look towards eco-friendly options for sustainable growth. Water conservation is another critical point.

If having prosperity on par is being irresponsible, then our definitions don't match. The west can get sustainable, and not impose a cap on the east's aspirations. The west can't impose such a cap.

Make the west cleanup when we pollute. Or the world really is doomed. That shouldn't mean that we should remain poppers while the west continues to enjoy its prosperity.

Right, and in this speech, instead of hinting at that, Obama is raising an alarm on China and India, as if he wants his people to make sure we don't get a better standard of life, not that his people should cut-down.

Population density is a crap argument. Parts of Central, Western Europe has higher population density than India, yet it's able to have a high prosperity index. If EU can do it, so can China and India.

It doesn't matter if you make the decision or not, you will be forced down the path by market controls. The price of coil, oil and gas will all be reaching peak points in the coming years, Western countries will be able to afford higher prices than developing nations will so it will be sold to the West and the developing world will be left out. That is why it is imperative that India and China start looking for other alternatives.

Alright, lets follow the western model then, let's see how far that's going to take us. Prosperity is good but we must not become irresponsible like the US. The US can afford it for now...we have more at stake.

That being said, it is as much the USA's responsibility as it is ours to protect the environment. They shouldn't be lecturing us when they themselves pollute more than we do (per capita).

I remember watching a documentary which said that by 2050 (around that time), it will require the equivalent of two earths to feed India and China. Something needs to be done about the population explosion in this region.

so, why can west guys give up their way of life and spare some energy for 1.3 billion CHinese.

if some sacrifice has to be done, why must it be Chinese turn? why can't west people do the sacrifice?

man is born equal . 1.3 billion Chinese are as born eqaul as 1.0 billion west people.

the resource on the earth are the exclusive domain for west people. Chinese people have the right to live a life as modern as west people.

man is born equal.
lazy west guys have no right to live a better life than hard-working chinese . period.

anyhow, I don't think china with most forex will be the one who can not afford higher price.
the debt-afflicted Europe has more chance to be the one who bankrupt for higher price of resource.

Anyhow, I don't think china who will have the second largest debt crisis in the world is the one who can afford much of anything come the time of peak energy prices.
CHina' aknowledged national debt is less than 20% of its GDP.
even if all bank loans of local government finacial vehicles (at most 8 trillion RMB) are included, China's natinal debt (aknowledged +potential )is still much less than the 50% of its GDP,but how about EU?

if measured by loose "europe criterion", France's national debt is 60+% of its GDP,but if measured by CHinese criterion, france's national debit is 120% of its GDP.

let's wait and see how France joins the league of "PIGS".

BTW, here is a table about Natioanl Debt/GDP ,provided by Godlman Sachs.
the National debt of China in the table already includes the hiddenl national debt such as bank loans of Chinese local governmental fianacing vehicles. In fact, if not considering those potential natioanl debt, China's aknowledged national debt/GDP ratio is less than 20%.

What CCP acknowledges is irrelavent. What is at hand is the truth that Chinese NPLs will quickly mount once this housing bubble pops. 96% debt to GDP by next year...

By Chinese criterion France doesn't even have debt. It would all be hidden away in LGIVs. Speaking of spending without restraint, what do you think you are doing?

I am very happy to see how EU is struggling hard in the troubles.
as we know, it is always a enjoyment and privilege for Chinese sitting on the safe beach to watch how EU swims hard for its survival in the financial tsumami.

haha guy, whatever you say, I am enjoying the case that China is growing at 11% too. Japan knows all to well what is happening to you. I am very happy too see Chinese with a bunch of shovels digging ditches. You are the kings of efficiency you are. As we know it is always an enjoyment and privilege to watch the Chinese sitting on the safe beach because they can't afford a house and pool to swim in like us Euros. Middle class Chinese are much happier living in shipping containers and hole-in-the-walls.

guy, the reality stands by me. Your wish cannot beat the reality that the Fool-you Bureau has fooled you again.

May you not face any more price increases before you call a back-alley dumpster your home, MR. badguy.... hahah!
