Indian government should procure helicopters for NSG commandos. Helicopters I prefer is MI-17v5, Kamov 226 T and Hal Light utility helicopter.

I’m 100% certain NSG will get IMRH in 7-8 years, by then they will have the budget and capacity to raise their own air unit.

KA-226 isn’t coming and doesn’t do anything the LUH can do.

IMRH and LUH are the future.

Utterly pointless. You need to have a flat roof to enable this to happen and it can only carry 4 assaulters at a time. Fast roping from a medium lift helo like the Mi17/IMRH is always going to be the best option.

mi17 is a great mil Helo but horrible (IMO) for urban assault. Don't you remmeber the images of the mi17 during 26/11 holding hover for over 4 mins before troops were able to disembark ? Ripe target if RPGs had been involved. Rear opening hatch's have limitations as well as pros.

IMO Mi17s should be to ferry NSG and kit over longlong dista but they need a Helo that has side doors as an assault platform. Faster to unass assaulters onto roof tops.

Lastly with the Dhruv the Ka serves no purpose.

Ps the navy is signing a tender for 24 Seahawks. IMO SOD + NSG requirements could also be rolled in.

The NSG has learnt from then, they have refined their techniques and if you watch their recent drills they use 2 ropes and can get all 20+ assaulters out in less than a minuet.

Oh man , that's awesome , Before the Commandos fast rope from the HAL Lancer, the Helicopter itself crash in the floor,

It's decade old legacy platform, They might need the MD 530 heli's with gun pods , Easy to drop 4 commandos in very quick time , hence the Helicopter is so agile and relatively small in size
