Its highly probable that Chinese gave tech inputs to NK for its thermonuke project. In that case it is also possible that similar tech may be passed onto pakistan via cpec. We should be gathering intell on Pak nuclear program as well coz we may find same rabid behavior from Pak in future as shown by NK today.

Probable ?? It is 100% confirmed.... They provided technical support to both North Korea and Pakistan.

And Pakistan is already showing rabid behavior but only against India ( & Afghanistan ) .... This is why they are not getting international attention.

One question which dogs everybody other than media persons, that where did North Korea get all the technology and hardware to undertake such a complex project of flying an ICBM 8,000 miles and technology to build a miniaturize q Hydrogen Bomb?

US media (I reside here) about three or four years back was full of stories that economically North Korea is in a pit. People are dying on the street. The language was same as used when Mao Tse Tung was challenging America. China was described to be in an economical mess. Truly they were not but local population in US was being conditioned to believe that.

Same media and same description was being used to describe North Korea until four years back. It then suddenly stopped as North Korea set off a credible nuclear test and began testing long range missiles. I would say that what US was saying was not always true, just a mere propaganda .

Today's reports have confirmed that not only Hydrogen Bomb has been tested but it has been miniaturized to fit into a missile which can reach US.

I cannot appreciate these bold but stupid feet of North Korea. But I hate that US had lead us to believe that North Korea is hungry and unable to sustain itself, same what they were telling us about Mao Tse Tung's China and suddenly we found out that otherwise is true.

Indian media just cut and paste in what US was saying forty years back and saying the same until a little bit prior, about North Korea.

I refuse to believe that Pakistan provided this technology to them. They have to develop it first for themselves without Dutch or china or American input. China would not give it to them, because they do not want a belligerent nuclear power on their borders. Same is true with Russia. Remember that during the best of time Khureschev refused to share Nuclear know-how with China in fifties.

Hence then who gave it to them?

Only point comes to mind is that they built it themselves. They have an industrial base and technical sophistication to miniaturize a hydrogen bomb and fire an ICBM 8,000 miles away.
China gave it to them. This was to balance out SKO who allowed Americans to have a military base so close to China.

Two points:

Looking back during Obama days, liberal media has done it's best to shield china from any sort of criticism on any issue. Why china is relevant here is that if you see the pics of Pyongyang year by year over the last decade, there is a considerable increase in high rise buildings every year. NK couldn't have possibly built so many high rise buildings without China's help. Only a river is the border between china and NK.

AQ Khan network is critical in this context. Nuclear proliferation happened thru that network. I'd say as NK tensions increase Khan would be made the scapegoat for nuclear proliferation. If you notice pak media in last two weeks, he was already offered once by paki media but nobody took the bait.

Good thing if North Korea conducted thermonuclear tests. North Korea is the convenient bogeyman of US politicians willing to play to the gallery, but unwilling to stand up to is the real Chinese threat because of the interests of rich business donors.
Now that North Korea have effective nuclear deterrent, they have to find a new bogeyman.

Watch CNN reporting of today on NK topic, In a way validates the first point in my earlier post.

Deterrence Believers Shoud Cheer the North Korean Bomb

How did we get here? In the 1950s the USA dropped 635,000 tonnes of bombs on North Korea including 35,000 tonnes of napalm. The US killed an estimated 20% of the North Korean population. For comparison, approximately 2% of the UK population was killed during World War II.

That this massive destruction of North Korea resulted in a xenophobic, American-hating state with an obsession with developing powerful weapons systems to ensure national survival, is not exactly surprising. The western media treat the existence of the Kim Jong-un regime as an inexplicable and eccentric manifestation of evil. In fact, it is caused. Unless those causes are addressed the situation can never be resolved. Has any western politician ever referenced the history I have just given in discussing North Korea?

Putin: Military hysteria over N. Korea may lead to planetary catastrophe, heavy loss of life.

The examples of Iraq and Libya have convinced the North Korean leadership that only nuclear deterrence can protect them, so no sanctions can dissuade them, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
Pyongyang will not relinquish its military program under pressure of sanctions and military threats, because the examples of Iraq and Libya have convinced it that nuclear deterrence is the only credible way to ensure its security, President Putin told journalists on Tuesday.

Ramping up military hysteria in such conditions is senseless; it’s a dead end,” he added. “It could lead to a global, planetary catastrophe and a huge loss of human life. There is no other way to solve the North Korean nuclear issue, save that of peaceful dialogue.”

The 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq and the 2011 NATO intervention in Libya both came after the leaders of those countries submitted to international pressure and relinquished their programs of weapons of mass destruction in exchange for sanctions relief.

North Korea for its part chose confrontation with the world community, successfully developing nuclear weapons and currently, rapidly perfecting the means of their delivery.

“As I told my colleagues yesterday, they will eat grass but will not stop their program as long as they do not feel safe,” Putin said. “What can restore their security? The restoration of international law.”

These words sound familiar. Both Chinese stooges have so much in common. After Pakis ate grass for Nuke bum its the turn of Koreans.

there are a few examples of yesteryear when nations that had / were pursuing nuclear weapons program / equipped with the same - changed track and now do not (i.e. technically per se)

- Libya
- Soviet Union
- Taiwan
- Iran
- South Africa
- Brazil
- Iraq
- Germany

Fascinating to see each was "achieved"

Some lessons for North Korea , Pakistan and PRC perhaps ...

I suspect there will be a international incident to divert attention from NK issue.

My logic is that whenever US wants to focus on china, something or other happens to divert attention from china.
ISIS is wrapped up almost and USA needs a new disruption . NoKo is going to give it very close to the china border which USA has been longing for DECADES!!!
More than the money USA has a policy to kill Communism.
USA will now try to bring into book the profits of deploying forces near Japan and SoKo via NoKo.
Only thing to watch out for is which vector will USA take.

Interestingly,
When philippine's PM made a joke of USA , insulted POTUS and went on to side with china they got bitten by ISIS and the war is still happening on Phil.
well!!!!

Basically, that means if nations dont have the might to flex but is simply trying to nudge USA thinking china will save their ass gets a potion which is brewed by USA.

USA always invest on both sides of the war, that way they are completely in control of the game.
If USA is IN, that means they have got what they are looking for. USA will have "specialists "working on the ground.
Good!! china got USA "specialists" in Phil.
A good business man knows how to hedge their investment any time. USA knows how to do good business with terrorism.
