World War 3: North Korea detonates HYDROGEN BOMB sparking huge EARTHQUAKE - US Japan react
NORTH Korea has announced it has successfully launched a hydrogen bomb test which sparked a 6.3 magnitude EARTHQUAKE.

North Korea declares 'successful' hydrogen bomb test

The artificial quake indicated the H-bomb was 10 times more powerful than North Korea’s fifth nuclear test, according to a South Korean weather agency.

It has also been reported that it could be 5 times bigger than that of Nagasaki - the nuclear bomb dropped on Japan during World War 2.

A single bomb of this size is capable of wiping out a major city experts said.

Kim Jong-un ordered the nation's sixth nuclear test as tensions continue to escalate with the US.

According to North Korea's state media the test was a "perfect success" and a "meaningful" step in completing the country's nuclear weapons programme.

It added: ”The H-bomb test was carried out to examine and confirm the accuracy and credibility of the power control technology and internal structural design newly introduced into manufacturing the H-bomb to be placed as the payload of the ICBM.”

North Korea officials claimed the device could be mounted on its newly developed intercontinental ballistic missiles - which experts have said are capable of reaching the USA.

The country's meterological agency said that tremors from the bomb were felt far and wide - and the resulting tremors were 10 times as powerful as North Korea's last test.

Experts estmiated the blast to have been around 10 kilotons - five times larger than the bomb dropped on Nagasaki during World War 2.

President Trump has responded to the test on Twitter, saying: "North Korea has conducted a major Nuclear Test.

"Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States....."

He added: "North Korea is a rogue nation which has become a great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success."

North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test, which it said was a successful detonation of an advanced hydrogen bomb

The UK's foreign secretary Boris Johnson described the test as "reckless" and said the nation's development of a hydrogen bomb "unquestionably present a new order of threat".

He also put pressure on China - North Korea's only ally - to do more to dissuade Pyongyang from persuing its nuclear programme.

"There is no question that this is another provocation, it is reckless, what they are doing is they seem to be moving closer towards a hydrogen bomb which, if fitted to a successful missile, would unquestionably present a new order of threat," Mr Johnson said.

"We have to consider how to respond and it's our view in the UK, overwhelmingly, that peaceful diplomatic means are the best."

"Our message to the Chinese is, and we are working ever more closely with them, we think there is more scope for you, the Chinese, to put economic pressure on the North Koreans.

"It has worked, we have seen signs in the last six months of Chinese pressure actually changing the approach of North Koreans - let's see if we can do it again."

China has condemned the detonation of the bomb.

The Chinese foreign minstry said in a statement that North Korea "has ignored the international community's widespread opposition, again carrying out a nuclear test".

"China's government expresses resolute opposition and strong condemnation toward this," it said.

The hydrogen bomb test is believed to have been conducted at North Korea's Punggye-ri nuclear facility and is its first since Donald Trump took office.

Just hours earlier President Trump spoke with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a phone call about the "escalating" crisis with North Korea.

Their conversation was triggered by reports from North Korea that it had developed a more advanced nuclear weapon with "great destructive power”.

Kim Jong-un was also photographed supervising a hydrogen bomb being loaded into an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the USA.

The US Geological Survey said a magnitude 6.3 tremor struck near a weapons test site in the northeast of North Korea. A second tremor measuring 4.5 was also detected by South Korean officials.

Some people in China's north eastern provinces were woken by the earthquake.

Jiemiao Cangxin, who lives in the small Chinese city of Yanji, about 12 miles from the North Korean border, said his apartment shook so badly he and many others fled the building in just their underwear.

Writing on China's social media platform Weibo, he said: "I put my underpants on and I just ran.

"And when I reached the first floor, I can say I wasn't the only one running away with just my underpants on!"

No reports have emerged about whether a ICBM was used during the hydrogen bomb test.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said: “Kim Jong-un said he felt the pride at the indomitably bolstering up of [North Korea’s] nuclear forces despite a great price as he watched the Juche-oriented thermonuclear weapon with super explosive power made by our own efforts and technology.

“He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that our scientists can do anything without fail if the party is determined to do.

“The scientists further upgraded its technical performance at a higher ultra-modern level on the basis of precious successes made in the first H-bomb test.”

KCNA also hit out at earlier reports that its missile parts were imported from the Ukraine as it declared its hyrdrogen bomb was entirely homemade.

It said: “All components of the H-bomb were homemade and all the processes ranging from the production of weapons-grade nuclear materials to precision processing of components."

In the last two weeks the despot nation has attempted several missile launches and threatened the US-territory of Guam.

Earlier on Saturday, Kim Jong-un continued his war of words with US President Donald Trump across international waters, claiming any attempts by the “puppets” to locate North Korea’s ballistic missile launchers will not produce any useful result.

Japanese foreign minister, Taro Kono described the explosion as "extremely unforgivable."

Tokyo has registered a protest with the North Korea embassy in Beijing, he said.

South Korea has called for the strongest possible response in reaction to the test.

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel jointly condemned North Korea's actions, calling the test "a new dimension in provocation".

Meanwhile South Korean citizens seemed surprisngly relaxed about the nuclear threat.

Yeon Park, from Gimhae in southern South Korea told the Guardian: "To be honest, not many South Koreans realise the reality [of the situation] including myself.

"What North Korea is doing is on air everyday on the news, but I don’t think people here care about it a lot.

"Even I don’t really care about it as this kind of news has occurred many times."

It's not as much Trump being chicken as the S Koreans. They have been insisting on using diplomacy with N Korea. Well makes sense, they will be the biggest targets in case shit hits the fan.

Can't blame them. Seoul is literally like 15-20 miles from DMZ.

And about HALF of SoKoreans live in Seoul, well within Noko arty ranges.

Yes, can't blame them. However, they shouldn't be allowed to hold the rest of the world hostage to this insanity. Maybe Kim won't use the nukes against anybody but what happens when he is no longer there?

The odds are that an Islamic country will get their hands on the nukes and they won't consider the consequences of using them.

Well, I don't think china cares for a tiny strip in that tri-junction area.
They were, imo, trying to measure India's resolve. India gave good response.
Chinese respect only power and money (aka power)
They were doing what they have always been doing. It was an escalation from our side. They have been pulling the same shit for decades now. In their calculation our resolve to respond was already zero.

Yes they got schooled . But it was a test designed by India . And chinese failed to pass.

If Kim gets to keep the nukes. Then soon enough Iran will have own nukes. Next will be Saudi royals .

So either something drastic needs to happen or we will see a new wave of nuclear explosion around the globe.

Infact both south korea and Japan will go down and US cannot afford to lose such precious allies in the ASEAN. They are the only two countries that can counter hostile China in SCS.
It's a win-win situation for the Chinese.

If USA doesn't take action against NoKo,South Korea and Japan will be forced to build nukes. They definitely have the industrial capability to do so in quick time

I don't think they will and I don't think building nukes helps. They are already under the nuclear umbrella of the United States. N Korea knows that any usage of nukes will be the end of the N Korean nation. If that doesn't deter Kim from using them then nothing will.

If you are talking about a premptive nuclear strike by Japan or S Korea, that idea is very far fetched. They are the ones holding Murica off from bombing N Korea and wanting to use diplomacy. Uncle Sam loves a gold old war, he would be more than happy to oblige.

One question which dogs everybody other than media persons, that where did North Korea get all the technology and hardware to undertake such a complex project of flying an ICBM 8,000 miles and technology to build a miniaturize q Hydrogen Bomb?

US media (I reside here) about three or four years back was full of stories that economically North Korea is in a pit. People are dying on the street. The language was same as used when Mao Tse Tung was challenging America. China was described to be in an economical mess. Truly they were not but local population in US was being conditioned to believe that.

Same media and same description was being used to describe North Korea until four years back. It then suddenly stopped as North Korea set off a credible nuclear test and began testing long range missiles. I would say that what US was saying was not always true, just a mere propaganda .

Today's reports have confirmed that not only Hydrogen Bomb has been tested but it has been miniaturized to fit into a missile which can reach US.

I cannot appreciate these bold but stupid feet of North Korea. But I hate that US had lead us to believe that North Korea is hungry and unable to sustain itself, same what they were telling us about Mao Tse Tung's China and suddenly we found out that otherwise is true.

Indian media just cut and paste in what US was saying forty years back and saying the same until a little bit prior, about North Korea.

I refuse to believe that Pakistan provided this technology to them. They have to develop it first for themselves without Dutch or china or American input. China would not give it to them, because they do not want a belligerent nuclear power on their borders. Same is true with Russia. Remember that during the best of time Khureschev refused to share Nuclear know-how with China in fifties.

Hence then who gave it to them?

Only point comes to mind is that they built it themselves. They have an industrial base and technical sophistication to miniaturize a hydrogen bomb and fire an ICBM 8,000 miles away.

Kyun bey deshbhakton Modi ki beizati kar di to bura lag gaya. Lekin desh ki beizati hoti hai tab kuch nahi nikalta tumhare muhn sey.

This treatment meted out to Modi is a tit-for-tat for what the deshbaktas did when Xi was here last time. Which was in turn the riposte by a sidekick to what was done to its master (Obama) in China during G-20.

Now India ki fazihat kari thi tab and now again today.

Truly, for every Sunny Leone there is a Rakhi Sawant in this world.

Its highly probable that Chinese gave tech inputs to NK for its thermonuke project. In that case it is also possible that similar tech may be passed onto pakistan via cpec. We should be gathering intell on Pak nuclear program as well coz we may find same rabid behavior from Pak in future as shown by NK today.
