North Korea Test Fired Another Ballistic Missile
NEWS
00:11 29.04.2017(updated 00:49 29.04.2017)

A South Korean news outlet reports that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) launched a ballistic missile.

"North Korea fired an unidentified missile from a site in the vicinity of Buckhang in Pyeongannam-do (South Pyeongan Province) early this morning," according to a statement by the South Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Multiple local media outlets are reporting that the missile exploded shortly after leaving the launch platform.

"We're aware of the event," the US Pacific Command said.

The last time the DPRK tried to launch a missile was on April 16, but by all accounts it also failed.

The US has vowed in recent weeks that the era of strategic patience is over. On April 17, US Vice President Mike Pence said "we're going to abandon the policy of strategic patience," while adding that "our hope is that we can resolve this peaceably."

After a lot of hype and confusion, the US Navy's Carl Vinson and accompanying strike group have been headed to the Korean Peninsula in recent days. On Wednesday, the Vinson, two destroyers, a guided missile cruiser, were reportedly within "striking range" of North Korea "if called upon to do that," US Adm. Harry Harris said.

The US has reportedly been seeking to strengthen sanctions levied against Pyongyang. But one wonders how much this "diplomatic" maneuver is being made in vain: back in 1991, the CIA knew that economic sanctions would not lead North Korea to stop developing its nuclear weapon arsenal.

"It is likely only a matter of time before North Korea develops the capability to strike the US mainland," US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said at a UN Security Council meeting on Friday. The threat of nuclear attack against Seoul and Tokyo is "real," he added.

More like US is making a fool of itself. If by any chance this whole drama ends by north Korea keeping its nuke program intact or an Iran like fake deal (which Trump himself considers worthless) all USA show of force would turn into a big joke .

But I think American generals are more interested in using NoKo belligerence to install THAAD in soko against Papa cheen .
After THAAD comes B52 f22 f35 under THAAD protection and china effectively under direct range of us airforce.:biggrin2:

In any case Chinese are the bigger fools.

Here's something that happened this week and actually slipped the eyes of all of us : India has imposed sanctions on North Korea after US convinced India to do so.

NEWS :

NEW DELHI: India has notified the compliance of the UN resolution imposing sanctions on North Korea which include prevention of direct or indirect supply, sale, transfer or export of all weaponry and related material through its territories or by its nationals to that country.

The actual reason why US has not acted so far on Noko is these Artillery Guns and Rocket artillery These will cause enough damage to Seoul and will just make Seoul into a land of dust more than any missile and US don t have any counter measure to stop saving Seoul from these Artillery fire ..

Trust me its not the Nukes or the missiles the US is worried about ...

Watch the below presentation by Adm Harris to the US congress Watch from 3.10 where they talk about these Artillery Guns ..

Yup.

It is their conventional numerical strength that worries Seol. There is no way for the US to wage a war on Nk without the simultaneous destruction of Sk. This is the reason Sk itself will try to prevent USA from going too far in antagonizing Kim Dong Jhund.

On a tactical level, India must be mindful that NK exchanged Nuke stuff with Pakistan, but at the same time, as a rising power which is trying to upset the established world order and fit itself into a new world order, EVERY change in status quo and EVERY event which challenges the prevalent status quo is in our strategic interest, regardless of the outcome of the conflict.

Let's say the US invades and topples Kim successfully with the least collateral damage caused to global economy, and a unified Korea is created, then it has interesting strategic implications for everyone. A bigger stronger Korea will be a bigger threat to China, and combined with the Japan and Taiwan will literally box China within its geographical limits.

On the other hand, if the US invades and if Kim plays a dirty card like a bio, chemical attack which cripples SK, all the world economies linked with SK will collapse and already global joblessness is at ~10%. If even one economy falls the ripple effect of joblessness and crime will lead to nations starting world wars with their neighbors just to keep their domestic unrest pacified. But even this is preferable to us because the other nations will lose more in relative terms than India will. Anything that RESETs the world order is good for us otherwise we will be forever stuck with stalemate situation within our neighborhood and never get to project influence globally.

If India wants to reset things, let there be a major global upheaval which leads to a weakening of those who currently hold power. How India can then fill that power gap and fit itself into a new world order is a subject for another time (there are at least 3 million Indians in EVERY country in the world, most of them in highly affluent professions. In the event of weakening of central authority in that nation, the domestic power equation will accord more political power to our diaspora in those nations. Just like the Jews remained dormant in US for centuries, but when WW broke out, the American Jewish lobby found itself sitting at the high table negotiating a deal to create a new Jewish nation in exchange for their co-operation and finances to fight the WW.)

Let there be war bc. We have the appetite to digest losses in the event of a war and the subsequent world order which emerges will more than make up for those losses. For too long have small nations commanded power disproportionate to their size. Shitholes like Norway, Sweden, Germany have an ageing population. They cannot sustain a long war. India can.

The US is engaged in every theater of war in the world today. In the middle east against Iran, in the Eurasian region against Russia, in Asia against China and in Africa against competing European interests. Everyone wants the US gone from their backyard.

I wont say I support NK, but I support war. The conflict itself is a desirable outcome, regardless of the outcome of the conflict.

Artillery looks new and bigger caliber than 155mm. It's 170mm

Wiki : The M-1978 (Koksan) is a 170 mm self-propelled (SP) gun of North Korean design and manufacture.

Holy cow! those buggers even managed to design and manufacture it and we are importing M777 from US and K9 from South Korea and Bofors spares from Sweden.

Defying warnings, North Korea fires yet another missile
SEOUL/WASHINGTON, MAY 14, 2017 08:33 IST
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2017 20:38 IST

The weapon, which experts say may represent a new missile with a long range, flew 700 km and landed 97 km south of Russia’s Vladivostok region.

North Korea, defying calls to rein in its weapons programme, fired a ballistic missile that landed in the sea near Russia on Sunday, days after a new leader in South Korea came to power pledging to engage Pyongyang in dialogue.

The U.S. military’s Pacific Command said it was assessing the type of missile that was fired but it was “not consistent with an intercontinental ballistic missile”. The U.S. threat assessment has not changed from a national security standpoint, a U.S. official said.

Japanese Defence Minister Tomomi Inada said the missile could be a new type. It flew for 30 minutes before dropping into the sea between North Korea’s east coast and Japan. North Korea has consistently test-fired missiles in that direction.

Call for sanctions
A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the missile landed 97 km south of Russia’s Vladivostok region, prompting the White House to reference Moscow in a statement about the incident. “With the missile impacting so close to Russian soil in fact, closer to Russia than to Japan the President cannot imagine that Russia is pleased,” the White House said, referring to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The launch served as a call for all nations to implement stronger sanctions against North Korea, it added.

North Korea is widely believed to be developing an intercontinental missile tipped with a nuclear weapon that is capable of reaching the United States. Mr. Trump has vowed not to let that happen.

The missile flew 700 km and reached an altitude of more than 2,000 km, according to officials in South Korea and Japan, further and higher than an intermediate-range missile North Korea successfully tested in February from the same region of Kusong, northwest of its capital, Pyongyang.

An intercontinental ballistic missile is considered to have a range of more than 6,000 km.

Experts said the altitude reached by the missile tested on Sunday meant it was launched at a high trajectory, which would limit the lateral distance it travelled. But if it was fired at a standard trajectory, it would have a range of at least 4,000 km, experts said. Kim Dong-yub of Kyungnam University’s Institute of Far Eastern Studies in Seoul said he estimated a standard trajectory would give it a range of 6,000 km. “The launch may indeed represent a new missile with a long range,” said Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, referring to the estimated altitude of more than 2,000 km. “It is definitely concerning.”

This only proves trump just kicked chinese on there ass in obor and consensus was not reached by both parties on the issue of north korea. That means south korea is strong along with usa in disagreement.

Obese china told its dormant slave to show some posture so that usa en south korea to compromise south china sea, obor on the deal table and have some marbles to negotiate.

I think usa is bargaining larger pie to compromise its position from china.

Middle finger to china.

At the minimum, I am in favour of India taking control of vantage points inside PoK if hostilities begin between the US and DPRK. This is at the minimum. There are a few places where India is at a disadvantage along the LoC. If the situation permits, India should be prepared to take some territory north-west of Keran sector, at least up to Lulusar-Dudipatsar National Park so that India can disrupt their NH-15.
