beside these i think we should buy/make israeli six SAAR 6 corvette. which hv only 2000+ ton displacement. yet it can carry one 10 ton helicopter, 32 barak 8 missile, 16 gabreal or sea breaking cruise missile (200-300 km range) nd other smaller missile. it hv also impressive 7400 km range, but its cost is approx 500 million dollar. one nilgiri class frigate cost is aprrox 900 million dollar. although it hv lesser but deadlier 8 brahmos missile. but we can also fit brahmos ng instead of tomohawk or gabriel missile in SAAR 6. look our most corvette ships, they hv 2500 ton displacement, but only antisubmarine capabilities. they cant match 32 barak 8 sam of SAAR 6, which is equal to our destroyer. although our Corvette r cheaper (approx 200-250 million dollar). they hv limited sam system nd no antiship capabilities. what u guys think??

Why do you want 80 VLS on 7000 ton vessels? It does not make any sense. These are our ships and we have to arm them according to our need.

Not possible u just can't cut and add vls that's its last capability except vlsrsam as they were planned during construction
Even if we cut hypothetically then 80 on nilgiri is impossible
What's there we have to adjust that's what Navy asked and got
If u call it underarmed then few will bang u

need?? our need is to equip more VLS in our ships. so we dont need more shore based brahmos missiles. more firepower means we hv to send less ships to choke different points like Malacca street, hormus street etc. more VLS means more sam protection against chinese heavy type 055 cruiser which hv 100+ VLS. more VLS means we can add 2-3 layer of sam missiles, that will give more protection. now tell us what navy "need" with lesser amount of VLS.

Cant speak about the Nilgiri class, have no idea about the ship's interiors. The Kolkata/Vishakapatnams, theres enough space for large VLS farms if you think about it.

Ya'll Nibbiars The 32 LRSAM/MRSAM, 8 Brahmos and 32 VLSRSAM, that's still 72.

Cant speak about the Nilgiri class, have no idea about the ship's interiors. The Kolkata/Vishakapatnams, theres enough space for large VLS farms if you think about it.

Ya'll Nibbiars that's what telling them, our ships have been made with the soviet philosophy of future upgradations with enough space to add weapons systems.

sir ji...british already increse their VLS number (72 VLS with sea septer missile) in their type 45 daring class. it hv same displacement like vishakhapatnam class. even if we cant add VLS in our destroyer, why cant we increase missile number by fitting surface launchers in empty space?? yes it will decrease its stealth, but with 600-800 km range brahmos or barak 8 missile addition, we dont need too stealthy destroyer. coz enemy ships radar can only detect our ships maximum 400-450 km range.
