So much propaganda and hype over a child's Toy !!!:pound::pound::pound:
Target Drones are not Child's Toys but a Military's most expensive requirement for training and testing its war skills in peacetime.

Development of Abhyas will not only help testing development Anti-Air weapons but replace expensively imported maals like Banshee currently in Indian service.

You should know that!!!!!

I think that guy is seriously going through some mental crisis.

He's deliberately trying to provoke folks here as a way of seeking attention.
Rabbid itch can not be resisted, is it?

What DRDO has been delivering considering its budget is already amazing. Eg. ASAT.

LAKSHAY was the first initiative. It had partial success. ABHAYAS is next step built on experience gained from related developments. Hence maligning it by comparing it with the previous product by calling it a "Toy Project" is amateurish if not outright childish.

the project for the design and development of Inter-Services PTA by ADE, satisfying the ISQR was sanctioned by Government in September 1980 at a cost of ₹170 million(US$2.5 million) including a foreign exchange element of ₹80 million (US$1.2 million). The development activity was planned for completion within five years. In parallel, a development project for indigenous development of PTA Engine (PTAE-7) was also sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹45 million (US$650,929.50) to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in September 1980, based on a feasibility study and project proposal submitted by HAL. The engine was to be developed by HAL by September 1985, concurrently with the PTA. HAL announced the successful trial of the indigenously-designed and developed remote-controlled PTAE-7 jet engine on 24 January 2001.

**************************************
The project was formally closed on June 1994 and a final closure report was issued in April 1995 after incurring a total expenditure of ₹218.2 million (US$3.2 million).

**********************************************
The production cost of one aircraft is 2,93,75,000 Rupees (US $450,000).

From 1977 to 2019 - that makes it 42 damn years and DRDO is still elated with playing with toys. If pointed out then there is a childlike emotion of - My toy is better !
How does the rant of adequate funding comes from after spending that much money?? Consider how many Scientists recruited in 1977 would have proceeded on retirement by 2019 ??

and you are not admitting the facts.

Please note abhyas engine 25kg thrust and lakshya engine 380 kg thrust. Both are different class.

Just in....

The air force and army drone pilots are at Chitradurga getting a feel of the Rustom-2 before user trials kick in later this year. We'll need to wait for the investigation report to know what really happened. Human error or technical snag?

The incident created quite a scare at Jodichillenahalli village as a loud noise was heard after the drone crashed. Soon, a large number of people gathered at the spot. Videos of the broken UAV went viral on social media.

Looks like the ground unit lost control of the drone and it entered into a tail spin and crashed.

A shame that it was DRDO's most promising drone platform.
