Are this thoughts or report?6 more Netra Mk-1 with enhanced GaN radar on used Embraer aircrafts (no timeline but very soon).
6 Netra Mk-2 with enhanced and bigger GaN radar on A-321 with 2 aircrafts every two year from now onwards.
There was a nose mounted radar? I only saw the dosa radar on top. Also, the GaN you mentioned is the dosa one?Loved the reconfirmation of the nose mounted AESA on the Netra Mk2 model at AeroIndia. Nearly 360 coverage.
Along with that GaN radar, 9,000km+ range, 14hr+ endurance, now we have a no-compromise platform in comparison to what was planned on the A330 earlier.
Also, probably 1/3 of the operating cost.
Will it have enough stations onboard to be able to manage 100 combat planes at one time? That is what the capacity of the USAF's E7B Wedgetails & 707 based AWACs can do. What about the A330 platform? Can it carry sufficient capacity to manage 100 combat plane battle at one time?Loved the reconfirmation of the nose mounted AESA on the Netra Mk2 model at AeroIndia. Nearly 360 coverage.

As for who the guy is
300° coverage. 120° each side plus 60° for nose.Loved the reconfirmation of the nose mounted AESA on the Netra Mk2 model at AeroIndia. Nearly 360 coverage.

It goes to show what jokers the IAF are, they were forced to induct even the NETRA MK.1, even after PAF’s AEW strength outgrew theirs. Then they operationalised it and realised it was useful now 10 years later they are thinking about more. 15 years or so lost for nothing. Of course giving large upfront orders for Indian products is unthinkable to Indian uniforms6 more Netra Mk-1 with enhanced GaN radar on used Embraer aircrafts (no timeline but very soon).

The AWACS(I) radar is far too large for any of the proposed MTA contenders to supportI'm getting a vibe the upcoming MTA will have a variant that will house the AWACS(I) and another variant will also act as new Refuller. A330 MRTT will most probably not be procured.
If possible they will also mount the Phalcon Radar on the new MTA.
So basically 2028 deadline for all 6 Netra Mk2 to be delivered“In the AEW&C and AWACS programmes, we do not do the aircraft. We take the aircraft from airlines. We put sensors on it which allow that aircraft to act as a surveillance system. So, it flies and looks at objects coming towards the country from more than 350 kms. AEW&C Mark-I has already been inducted into the Air Force. AEW&C Mark-II started one year ago and we have a PDC of sixty months to complete this.”

Might not be exactly true. More than hardware Software optimization is required for AEWC operations. Initially the product might not have been great. But these projects need handholding. With required input over the years the platform is probably now very good in terms of searching and identifying objects. It goes to show what jokers the IAF are, they were forced to induct even the NETRA MK.1, even after PAF’s AEW strength outgrew theirs. All of these jokers with stars on their uniform seem to have brochure fixation and demand only the best of the best finial products from day one. Either they are flat out retarded or they are bought off and want their post retirement golden parachutes from the global OEM majors.Might not be exactly true. But again IAF is not known to handhold projects. They have an chief in Jail for corruption. Govt needs to force its hand or request their chief to hand in their resignation
