When we will have a prototype
Making Air India an excessive asset-heavy airline in a low-margin business with a high cost of capital is what got the company into this place- loss making, debt ridden. Don't think that any investor would mind if the IAF pays the pro-rata price of the aircraft, even if they had included it in the deal.
AI to be sold off within a few months but this is likely to happen before any sort of agreement is in place for NETRA MK.2, has this been accounted for?
I do hope this isn’t a case of one ministry not knowing what the other ministry is doing and missing out again by moving too slowly
this could be the death of the NETRA MK.2 project before it has even commenced
The first unit will be a prototype like for NETRA MK.1When we will have a prototype
Despite it's larger size, the top array in a blister will have FOV problems, wonder if they do indeed go with it, will they need two flank and one ventral array to enable 360 degree coverage. Even a electronic scanning beam from the top array has its limits in terms of azimuth
Requirement is for 6 netra mk2 right?..1 will be tested bed for amca and 4 more have been delivered what about the rest?
6 have been handed over- 1 A319 (VT-SCO) for the AMCA FTB, 5 A321sRequirement is for 6 netra mk2 right?..1 will be tested bed for amca and 4 more have been delivered what about the rest?
The frontal radar is just for frontal coverage. It is not meant for 360. So one array. The kitkat for remaining sidesDespite it's larger size, the top array in a blister will have FOV problems, wonder if they do indeed go with it, will they need two flank and one ventral array to enable 360 degree coverage. NETRA 1 had around 240 degree coverage, NETRA 2 will have >300 degree coverage. The remaining blind spot being directly at the rearThe frontal radar is just for frontal coverage. It is not meant for 360. So one array. The kitkat for remaining sides
How does the SAAB Erieye manage a 270* coverage with its radar despite the configuration being very similar to the Netra Mk1?NETRA 1 had around 240 degree coverage, NETRA 2 will have >300 degree coverage. The remaining blind spot being directly at the rear
how much is our tanker and awacs requirement ?6 have been handed over- 1 A319 (VT-SCO) for the AMCA FTB, 5 A321s
not sure when they’ll get the last A321 airframe, maybe they already have but it’s already with DRDO?
Not at all, the components of Radar in Netra AWACS is completely Indian in Origin AFAIK. Please refer to the Netra AWACS thread and also to "OPEN SOURCE" for more information.Do netra uses some of Israeli green pine air borne components in these awacs
Tanker requirement seems to be ~12, AWACS ~18how much is our tanker and awacs requirement ?
