Nepal’s Forex reserves are at $9.75 bn while Pakistan’s is at around $12 bn, so don’t know who’s more fucked up? Coz Pakistan is a much bigger economy than Nepal (more than 10 times larger to be precise). So Neoal is pretty much on a safer side as of now.

Nepal just needs to control their imports, which as of now are pretty high.
GDP numbers are never accurate
FOREX reserves data is accurate but while comparing the Forex reserves you should also see the population of both the countries
Quality of life in Nepal is far superior to Pakistan which is reflected in parameters like Average life expectancy , infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate
Averages life expectancy of Nepal is 70.78 years for Pakistan it’s 67.27
Infant mortality rate in Nepal is 25.45 deaths per 1000 live births for Pakistan it’s 56.88

A novice question to all economics enthusiasts here; do we trade with Nepal in ₹₹ or $$? It would be ridiculous if we are trading in $$ instead if our Rupee, which would ease the pressure on their Dollar reserves.

The last thing we want is Chinese offering then ¥uan in exchange for their imports. It would destroy Nepali ₹ and cement Chinese hold completely on their ecosystem.

China is trying hard to connect Kathmandu and Beijing with high speed rail corridors and Expressways they’re investing heavily in studying the terrain and developing the technology they’re ready to spend 2.75 billion USD in preparing the dpr alone
If India doesn’t complete the expressway and high speed rail corridor projects in Bihar Jharkhand Bengal then Nepal will find it easier and cheaper to trade with china via Tibbet than doing the same via Kolkata port
You have to connect Kathmandu and other cities of Nepal with Kolkata if you don’t want China to overtake India as the biggest trading partner of Nepal

Tibbet may or may not industrialize but china will develop the the technology to connect Kathmandu and Beijing using high speed rail corridors and Motorways they’re already doing it studying the terrain , investing on research , developing new technologies they’re continuously making the technology cheaper and better

Tibet is not geographically suitable for industrialization

But it is possible to connect Nepal by rail

You cant win against the laws of physics and economics .. Its cost way more to go up and down the massive Tibetan plateau .. This is a marketing line that China gives to scam south asian countries.

Yes, the construction cost is high

But it makes good strategic sense

The Raxaul-Kathmandu railway line (for which the dpr is being prepared) is India’s answer to China’s Shigaste-Kathmandu railway line
If China can dream of colonising mars and moon if china can develop the technology for spacecrafts and space stations then why can’t they connect Kathmandu and Shigaste they will do it and they will do it soon

@karn
The Terai Belt of Nepal (Bordering Bihar Province in India) is suited for industrialization chinese industries can easily flood the indian market using the Terai Belt of nepal as manufacturing hub
Birgunj , Biratnagar and Janakpur are the most industrialized cities of Nepal

Dunno .. in such bilateral matters it is rarely one sides fault.

Most of it will be Tunnels and bridges construction cost is high but it will give china access to indian borders (including the chicken’s neck)
See this map

accessing chicken’s neck via Kathmandu is no big deal

Now look at the line going to Chinas east coast .. That is the bit that you need to be concerned about.
What you are showing is useful for "strategic reasons" like mentioned above.
