"It may take several hours, but you can already say that the fire is extinguished," the interlocutor familiar with the situation told Interfax, adding that the area of ignition is insignificant.
According to him, presumably, the hull or some repair equipment burned, which burned during welding works. No harm done. All the time was taken out. The interlocutor noted that there is no armament or instruments on the ship, as he has already been in the process of modernization for a long time.
As told in the press service of the DCCS, the fire arose in the superstructure. Immediately after the onset of the fire, all the people on board were evacuated, there were no casualties.
"The causes and volumes of ignition are being clarified, specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working on the spot for one hour, the hot spot of the fire is working," the press service commented.
