Hope what you guys are saying is true, I don't have all that much knowledge on the Burmese internal politics issue, I just know the North of their country is engulfed in insurgencies, so their armed forces is mainly counter insurgency geared, not fighting another country's army.
There has been a lot of Chinese activity (infrastructure building like roadways and dams) in what is regarded as Kachin state over the past decade.

This was resented by the ethnic Kachins and it led to a couple of attacks on Chinese built dams which in turn forced the Burmese Govt. to urge the KIA to join the Tatmadaw as border guards. The Kachins in turn claim Burma is using infrastructure security as an excuse to push their troops into their area, bringing Tatmadaw into LOS of KIA. The past decade has seen some conflict.
In the end, junta gayi bhaad mein, leader ko paisa milna chahiye.

China is throwing a lot of much needed money into Burma and bribes the leadership so they look the other way. Intent is obviously to get access to Bay of Bengal region and open another front with India.

China as of today wields enormous influence over North Burmese insurgent groups.

Let's see if the Burmese coup is to help the Chinese further their agenda in Burma or confront them. I suspect it could be the former if a lot of money has already changed hands amidst the overhang of the ongoing Sino-Indian conflict.

What are the chances Myanmar military assisting China (if not directly), like providing airspace or assisting NE rebels ?
They wouldn't, Indian army has a good relationship with the Myanmar army. They have conducted joint raids against rebels and have also built up their rapport via IMBEX.

China for obviously has a hand here, but I am sure India would not move unless it very explicit. India can at maybe release Aung San Suu Kyi from the clutches of the army, either diplomatically or militarily.

Myanmar's army chief challenges Biden, and bets big on China

NAYPYIDAW (BLOOMBERG) - By seizing power on Monday (Feb 1), Myanmar's generals are providing US President Joe Biden with an early test of his efforts to counter the appeal of China's authoritarian model in Asia.

Army chief Min Aung Hlaing, who was bumping up against a mandatory retirement age this year, already faces sanctions from the United States and Britain due to a brutal crackdown against Rohingya Muslims that has led to accusations of genocide.

Beijing, meanwhile, has shown him respect: In a meeting last month with the 64-year-old general, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called the two countries "brothers" while praising the military's "national revitalisation".

A woman did her regular aerobics class out in open without realizing that a coup was taking place in #Myanmar. A Military convoy reaching the parliament can be seen behind the woman as she performs aerobics. Incredible!

I am not so sure about her doing those aerobics unintentionally. To me it’s looks like she is mocking or taunting the Myanmar Armed Forces in her own away I guess. She might be a supporter of Aung San Suu Kyi and her political party National League for Democracy (NLD) and also who does Aerobic classes right in front of the Parliament Building area and also while a nation wide military coup is happening?

Any official statement from US and India ?
From India's Ministry of External Affairs:
We have noted the developments in Myanmar with deep concern. India has always been steadfast in its support to the process of democratic transition in Myanmar. We believe that the rule of law and the democratic process must be upheld.
Sanctions threatened by Biden
U.S. President Joe Biden said the coup was a direct assault on Myanmar’s transition to democracy and the rule of law.

“The United States removed sanctions on Burma over the past decade based on progress toward democracy. The reversal of that progress will necessitate an immediate review of our sanction laws and authorities, followed by appropriate action,” Biden said in a statement.

Amreeka has exported "democracy" for long. If Myanmar gets too close to the Chinis for our comfort, helping them with the NE insurgencies and shit, India also needs to start exporting "democracy".

However, my belief is that the Army is not overtly pro-China, due to the Sugar support for Arakan separatists and predatory Chinese economic policies. We should wait and watch before commenting.
