'Muslim Patrol' harrass men for looking 'gay' in London

Police are investigating a minority group who have been attacking people, saying they have to 'get out of Muslim areas'

Police are investigating a so-called 'Muslim Patrol' in London who have been harassing men for looking 'gay'.

In video footage posted on YouTube from the weekend (19-20 January), it shows a group calling a passerby a 'bloody fag'.

'Hello mate, don't you know this is a Muslim area?' asks a male member. 'Why you dressed like that for?'

When asked why they were bothering him, the group says: 'Cause you're walking through a Muslim area dressed like a fag! You need to get out of here!'

From the clip, it appears to be the work of a small group of young men, some of whom can be heard laughing at their victims.

Thought to be filmed in Shoreditch, East London, the video is prefaced by a logo saying 'Islam will take over the world.'

Speaking to Gay Star News, a Metropolitan police spokesman said they had increased police presence in reported areas and were working with local mosques.

'We have also been speaking to local community leaders, influential people, businesses and the local authority about the issue and what is being done, and can be done, to address it.'

Other videos, which also include the group yelling at women and people drinking alcohol, have also been strongly condemned by Muslim and gay rights activists.

East London Mosque said the men's behavior was 'utterly unacceptable and clearly designed to stoke tensions and sow discord.'

'The actions of this tiny minority have no place in our faith nor in our streets.'

They added: 'We will monitor the situation closely and our Imams will be speaking out against such actions.'

Leading gay Muslim campaigner Omar Kuddus told GSN he was 'appalled' such behavior exists and is done in the name of his religion.

'We live in a multicultural and faith society and such behavior cannot and should not be tolerated,' he said.

'Though they are entitled to their opinion their actions mount to that of criminal behavior, I am appalled that they are using Islam for their justification.'

The area concerned, the London borough of Tower Hamlets, hit the headlines in 2011 when anti-gay stickers appeared. These were also condemned by Muslim groups.

Police are appealing for anyone with further information to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

While several of the videos have already been taken down due to YouTube's terms and conditions, the clip below has been flagged as 'potentially offensive or inappropriate.'

Extremist behind 'gay-free zone' posters jailed for possessing al Qaeda literature

A perfume salesman who painted burqas on scantily clad women on advertising posters and stuck "gay-free zone" posters on London's Brick Lane was today jailed for 14 months for possessing terrorist literature.

Mohammed Hasnath, 19, admitted four counts of having copies of al Qaeda's Inspire magazine on his computer memory stick.

He was also given a one-month concurrent sentence for breaching a conditional discharge imposed last year for six offences of criminal damage involving the posters.

Hasnath, of Poplar, east London, had also been dealt with by the court for sticking "gay-free zone" posters in Brick Lane.

Bearded Hasnath has been in custody for 206 days and is likely to be released in the next week, the Old Bailey heard.

While on remand in Belmarsh, a prison officer heard prisoner Mohibur Rahman, who pleaded guilty to having terrorist literature in the stock exchange bomb plot trial, apparently encouraging him.

Alexander Chalk, prosecuting, said Rahman was overheard talking through pipes to Hasnath in the next cell, telling him: "When you get released, stay squeaky clean and then you can carry on our work."

Hasnath was arrested riding a bicycle in East India Dock Road, near his home, and arrested under the Terrorism Act after posting material to a YouTube site cross-referenced to his non-alcoholic perfume sales site.

Hossein Zahir, defending, said Hasnath had since been moved to Woodhill prison where he had requested to take part in a de-radicalisation programme.

He said of the prison officer's statement: "He has no recollection of this statement. There is no indication that he agreed to what Mr Rahman said."

Mr Zahir added: "He was a naive young man expressing an under-developed interest in these issues. He is remorseful."

Judge Gerald Gordon said he was concerned that Hasnath had been placed in a cell near Rahman.

He said information about the encounter was "extremely worrying", although it appeared it was Rahman not Hasnath who was talking.
The judge said it was not possible for him to make a judgment about Hasnath's future intentions.

I do not know what the muslims can have against gays as they are gays themselves. In my course in NDA we had two Iranian cadidates who were already married and they were very close to me as friends. One day when their wives were with them, I was shocked to hear one of them say that he wants to marry again and the wife was not bothered a bit, she said she will agree provided the other wife was of her choice.
I asked these guys as to what they did to satiate their sexual needs as in muslim religion where you can't make love to a woman unless you are married to her and if a muslim man finds that his wife was not pure, he has the right to kill her.
Their reply shocked me. They said women have other hole also so we have fun that way and woman remains a virgin. That was Iranians of 1983 for you all. My these cousemates are now Admirals in Iranian Navy and I have maintained contact with them.
