Short Summary:
Since the last three yrs. Monks from the nearby Mhatt have been protesting against the "Governmentalization" of Temples. On Tuesday they met the CM who took a note of their demands after which the protest was called off. Now the demands will be delibirated upon by the Officials of MP's "Dharmasva" (Dharma/religion) Dept. The govt said they are sensitive towards the demands.

Demands:
->The scheme of "Governmentalization " should end.
->Monks should have rights on temple ground.
->MP temple act 2012 not to be implimented.
->To form an empowered board for the temples.
->in the CM's Religious travel (Teerth) scheme a reservation of 20% for acetic and Monks.
->Temples at narmada bank to be kept insulated from "Master Plan"(construction activities).

Has anyone ever filed a PIL in this context? How can it be constitutional valid for the state to control the funds of the place of worship of one religious community while leaving others?

Lets see the government defend their stance.

Sants, temple priests call off Dharna on CM’s assurance

Akhil Bharatiya Sant samaity president Mahesh Sharma, while talking to Free Press, said, “We called on CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan who assured us not to auction the land of temples and religious places. Pujaris who are engaged in farming will be given status of farmers and all facilities which are given to farmers in the state will be given to pujaris. No religious places will be dismantled. CM also assured Saints that state government will not introduce any bill or act without consulting them.”
