1) Morality is necessary only among your tribe/people/family/community as long as they have it too. Otherwise, no.

2) People overwhelmingly agreeing on something noble can be considered morality. Morality can be feeding a homeless man as well as executing a rapist.

3) Yes. In fact, countries with high proportion of atheists generally tend to be much more peaceful than countries with high religious fervor. (*Cough* Arabs *Cough* *Ireland* *chokes*)

4) Yes, as long as the Laathi is in my or an ally's hands.😅

This is just my opinion.

Is the Reason why this thread even exists.

This nigga right here is Gengiz Khan.

He has killed millions of Men, women and Children all innocent some maybe not.
He has raped hundreds of women.
Killed hundreds of Infant children.

He lived for 65 years, fel of a horse and died (quick detah)

He didn't get punsished or anything.

He didn't even suffer.

He got away with everything.

To my understanding, the world is not perfectly calibrated to the T.

It works in some cases in others it doesn't.

Certain degree of randomness decide the fate or actions. Idk why, thats how it is

Then this proves it doesn't it that Morality and by extension god doesn't exist.
I usually categorize it with two classifications.

  1. the particular individual
  2. The group he is involved with(might be religion, clan, country etc)
It might sound bit silly but imo both are connected with each other.

For example, gengiz khan might have had a quick death but his clan degraded into oblivion. No one cares or even know what happened to them.

But take Hinduism for example, even though it had faced many pogroms for most part it survived for thousands of years. We have no equivalent contemporary example to compare with that.

My point is,individual actions affect the group they are part of similarly the groups actions will affect the individuals.

Its a circle often repeated in the history.

So to summarise U mean to say that your Bad karma is Reflected in your communities suffering.

But I heard dude was secular & had respect for other religions. Yes he killed too many people but he isn't celebrated like Alexander who has committed Genocides too.

Oh definitely, the issue of morality can be breakdown into order and chaos(randomness).

Order and chaos(randomness) go hand in hand together. For any given system order have its own set of chaos similarly chaos(randomness) have its own order. Both influence each other.

For example, until 1940s,the most parts of the world was ruled by few monarchies(we can say its a type of order).

Then the WWs brought down the chaos which lead to breaking up of empires.

That chaos created new world "order" of new countries.
The newly created (Muslim n commie) countries creating chaos in otherwise "order"ed world....

See where I'm going with, this type of actions will repeat itself inherently.

Dharma (Balance between your rights and duties) > Morality (Degraded form of Dharma) > Ethics (Seriously degraded form of Morality) > Constitution (Contemporary ethics) > Law (Constitution based)

Dharma needs God to back it, morality doesn't I guess. God is not needed for anything below dharma.😁 Hope I did not mess it up.

It doesn't matter if he is celebrated or not.

Was justice delivered?

Did he pay for the crime?
I guess everyone has some purpose in life. The guy ended Golden Islamic age by sacking of Baghdad. Maybe he was their reckoning.

In theory yes. Practically I don’t know. Without the support of a robust faith in some kind of supreme force driving the universe morality tends to melt away. If there is no supreme force then the world is just absurd. Fighting the absurdity is quite a surhuman task.

To tell a lie is a sin - a Moral.
To tell a lie for welfare of someone is better than 100 truths - an Ethic.

I think ethics are a compromised set of morals.

Ethics are self defined or defined by society.

Morality is something that is more universally agreed upon.

Murder, rape, stealing, blackmailing these all are immoral things and are universally looked down upon by people.

But this is something that society agrees upon, it's made by humans like u and me.

1) Morality is it necessary.
-- Necessary

2) Who Decides what's morale.
-- The Dharma

3) Can Morality exist without god.
-- No

4) Do u believe in the concept of "Jiski lathi uski bhais".
-- I believe in Lathi + Dharma
"Jiski lathi uski bhais". is "Balam Dharma" concept in Hiduism. It works to a great extent and then it stops. The Balam Dharma of Vishwamitra did NOT work on Higher Level Dharma of Vashistha.

These are short answers.

BUT the practical answer is that during this pandemic times there are many neo-fascists who are coming out of their closet and taking off the masks of Liberal-secular-Hero that they wore for their own convenience. These guys don't have any morality, They Only Live Once. What's the need for Morality if someone lives only once? That's why Islam does not have morality since they live only once, after which they get permanent access to 72 Hoors and endless liquor. In that sense the liberal-secular-atheist-Hero is much closer to Islam than Hinduism ;) Watch out for guys like that. They are in DFI too. They are famous ;) And these guys are in politics, admin, babudom too. YOU are screwed unless YOU fight for YOUR own freedom.

Morality is subjective, the baseline changes with time and space.

What’s moral today may not have been moral few centuries ago, and vice versa.

What’s moral in India may not be moral some where else. ex: there was a time in India where people in some parts of India prayed to a tree before it was cut, others didn’t.

Chengiz Khan cannot be judged by today’s and your moral standards, at best be judged by his own ethic group and in his time period only.

Simply put there is no such thing as universal morality.

There are differences between temporary customs acceptable in some societies that come and go; And then there are Moralities which are applicable to all places/ all times/ all societies (edge cases in complicated scenarios are exceptions)
