So - what is the exact nature of the backstab the CCP is planning? Every time the CCP extends its hand out, it's for some maneuvering in the background that they're working towards.

- New sweet-talk from Xi to stave off India for some time so that he can focus on more expansionism in South China Sea?
- Trying to extract concessions for Chinese goods and India's new anti-dumping laws that have hit some Chinese businesses? More trade concessions to open up India to Chinese products deemed non-secure/unsafe?
- Is it about throwing Modi off-balance in elections, with the Congress-ISI-CCP nexus coordinating efforts to finish Modi off for 2019? Karnataka is around the corner, any international embarrassment for Modi can be played up locally, how he has "messed up" foreign relations.
Do not use sum-zero gaming to simplify the international relationship.

Modi has good relationship with Xi and CCP. After western labelled him as "Gujarat Slaughter" when he was governing the Gujarat, Chinese government invited him to visit China with good reception and present lots of good experiences on economic development.

India and China must have lots of areas to cooperate, not only on economic, but also on geopolitics and mutual trust on borders.

I personally admire Modi/India doing really well on cracking down the ex-Muslim, and keep the internal Muslim group don't f**k around. Such ideology is really the cancer for our old civilizations...

I do not understand what was the triggering point for such sudden action of Modi to meet Xi, is Modi going to repeat the same mistake he did with Pakistan [ falling to the Nawaz Sharif sweet talk ?].

Does Modi thinks that he will be able to get something from these communists ? He should learn from Nehru ...

I see another back stab coming from the communists ... Modi will pay a big price in trusting these poisonous snakes [ read communists]

US itself is sending it's envoy to China. Let's see what transpires there. Will US stand by its decision to place duties on imports from China? Will U.S. sustain itself by discouraging imports from China? There will be price rise on cheap goods imported fromChina. Will U.S. public that is used to cheaper Chinese goods appreciate price rise? Time will answer a lot of questions.

In the meanwhile India should do what is in best interests of India. We should have clear objectives of what we wish to achieve. China cannot afford war and enmity with India. During this summit we should ask for:-

1. More exports to China thus reducing trade deficit
2. isolation of Pakistan by stopping arms supply by China to Pakistan,
3. Entry in NSG
4. China not to interfere in India's internal affairs including support to separatists in NE.
5. Stop interfering in Arunachal Pradesh
6. Stop dam construction on Rivers flowing into India from China.
7. Help India in getting POK back.
8. As a goodwill gesture, return Askai Chin back to India.

As a return, India will be neutral to China in their trade war with U.S. and EU.

How are we going to reciprocate? We have nothing to offer to China in return except staying neutral in regional conflicts involving China like in the South China Sea etc. So none of your points you mentioned will ever be acceptable to the Chinese. It's totally one sided.

Neutral India is best for China. China is already having sleepless nights because of trade war with U.S.. Chinese companies are laying off Labour. To manage large Labour unrest, there will be chances of foreign forces igniting protests and trouble. At this time China can rest assured of peace at their south western border with India. We don't want trouble with anyone. We are peace loving. But if someone pokes us, we can give bloody nose.

First they already have a trade surplus with us to the tune of almost $60 billion. So what trade barriers are you talking about? It's the opposite. They instead need to lift trade barriers for our goods.

What 'sacrifice' of the Dalai Lama are you meaning? You want us to hand over the Dalai to China? That will never be. Unless the Dalai Lama himself wants to go back to Tibet.

Join India-Nepal road project? Are we dumb to allow easy access of cheap Chinese goods into India by road from Nepal and flood our markets with them like Pakistan and put our industries especially SMEs out of business?

And joining OBOR to placate the Chinese is out of the question as the CPEC runs through our territory. So what do we have to give them in return? Almost zilch! Except supporting them in international forums on issues like climate change etc and not making too much noise regarding the South China Sea, we have nothing much to offer.

Think much bigger and also much longer time frame(s). The same ought to be on plate no matter how strong and weak the other side is today and tomorrow it must be the same dynamics.

The student - examination taker (not us - not India) is going to for certain get a third division marks shortly from the examiner. Its not going to look good and its going to corrupt the mind of the same. We (India) have done well in studies and have achieved 60%+ plus marks far above normal. The class room has many students. Class room is opening door for next class. Everyone is going to see the third division of the student and remember it. Its forever stamp. The third division student has achieved good marks and done well in previous classes, degree and studies but this time for various reasons has got things in a mess. Our connection is civilizations and from 1000's of years. It is not in our ethos to laugh and kick someone when falling down. But it is not in our ethos to forget and forgive what has been done to us and said to us. It is our dharma and who we are to listen and also advise. That is not because of the marks now. Many third division students have gone on to do well later. The heart and soul is the same we used to get along amazingly and the intelligence is there. But it needs to be acknowledged and perhaps some treatment and correction is required. The truth and righteousness and righteous actions are not easy to react to sometimes but we wont do it any other way (Only sharing parts and pieces).

PM Modi is selfless, brave and very patriotic leader of India. Nothing can deter him from looking after India's interests and Indians overwhelmingly trust him. Yes, he is vegetarian and loves lentil soup and yogurt. No LOBSTERS for him pleas.
Two giant nations have to make a big choice...to peacefully coexist and trade across Himalayas and prosper
OR become enemies and risk being used/abused by other powers against each other.
PM Modi has been in politics for 4 decades..he very well understands global politics and hidden agendas of different nation. I am sure he will do what is best for India.
Rest assured...as long as PM Modi is leader of India...India will not become vassal of any one..West or China...He will have independent foreign policy and strategic autonomy.

Ideally, India and China should be great friends. Together they should be working against western imperialist designs. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. We are fighting each other instead. Two great civilizations, despite having suffered at the hands of western imperialists, are working against each other instead of working together. Could there be a greater travesty?

there was time not long ago when India scaled down and pulled away from UN Peacekeeping. the press releases and statements around that time and what Shri Jaswant Singh said ... the (deeper) message was clear.

the ratio is clear now. we know what is right. we will share it and step away. the person thats dug its own hole has to fill it. if he wants help and support from us he needs to implore and significantly make such actions towards us. this is not only about NPT, UNSC its much bigger.

why not simply be known for era and all times - and be labelled third division student. no harm right >>. wrong - not this time !! This is not about CPC and BJP. also this not about Modi and Xi. The latter is figuring it out perhaps. It is a means and was a means to bring everyone together someone said once - it later went out of control and morphed into external ideology.
