It was in a Chinese blog that Nehru ordered to capture a few posts in Tibet at instructions of West who promised Nehru full support to regain Tibet...BUT..Nehru was betrayed and nobody came to his help when China made a massive attack. I am not sure if this is true...its Chinese point of view.

Anyway..let me clarify my point..India must be very cautious and keep building its military strenghth.. WITHOUT
designating any nation an enemy (in advance) with the exception of Paki (for obvious reasons)

World is unpredictable...India has paid heavy price in past due to its idealism....its time be realistic and practical.
West is hellbent to control and dominate the entire World by military power...India ..needs to understand that World is jungle now...might is right now..strong wins and weak dies...lies can be created to attack and destroy weaker countries....There is no excuse to have a weak military force...its need of the...time
But,,I will hate to see India fighting China to fulfill some other nations agenda. India must not be anyone's pawn.

Paki made the blunder of fighting its master's Wars and look what condition Paki is...

In the end..India must refrain from fighting someone else's War...but must fight its own if imposed by any nation.

In June 1940, Hitler "outsmarted" the French.
In June 1941, Hitler "betrayed" the USSR.
There's a (little) difference & it's usually the latter if pretending-to-be-a-friend/nonaggressor is involved at some point.

Fair point, the second part.
Irony.
He outsmarted the USSR but the weather betrayed him.
From my 26 year old complicated life I've learnt many things. Nobody betrays you. They just outsmarts you. There is always a lesson. If you learn it then good for you.
Their is nothing wrong or right,no betrayal, it's just winning that counts.

China removes import duties on 28 medicines; India to get boost

PTI | Updated: May 4, 2018, 02:47 IST

7

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The development assumes significance as India has time and again asked for greater market access for its goods and services
  • The neighbouring country has agreed to set up industry park in India to increase investments and bridge trade deficit
  • .China on its part promised to address the trade gap issue

NEW DELHI: China on Thursday said it has removed import duties on as many as 28 medicines, including all cancer drugs, from May 1, a move which would help India to export these pharmaceuticals to the neighbouring country.

"China has exempted import tariffs (duties) for 28 drugs, including all cancer drugs, from May 1st. Good news for India's pharmaceutical industry and medicine export to China. I believe this will help reduce trade imbalance between China and India in the future," Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui said in a tweet.

The development assumes significance as India has time and again asked for greater market access for its goods and services, including IT, pharmaceuticals and agriculture, in the Chinese market to reduce the widening trade deficit.

In the meeting of India China Joint Group on Economic Relations, Trade, Science and Technology here, the issue of trade imbalance was discussed in detail. China on its part promised to address the trade gap issue.

Trade deficit with China stood at $36.73 billion during April-October 2017-18. It was $51 billion in 2016-17.

He also said that China would further improve business environment by halving time required to open a business.

"China's door to the outside world will open wider. Indian businesses are welcome," he added.

India too has sought investments from China. The neighbouring country has agreed to set up industry park in India to increase investments and bridge trade deficit.

PM Modi foxes Chinese mandarins with details of his 1st trip to Wuhan

Highlights
  • During talks with Chinese president Xi, PM revealed it was his second visit to Hubei province
  • This surprised Chinese officials, who otherwise keep a track of all bilateral and official visits minutely
  • As Gujarat CM, Modi had visited Hubei on a study tour to learn about the massive Three Gorges Dam
NEW DELHI: For once the Chinese mandarins were caught napping by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his informal summit with President Xi Jinping in Wuhan, China's ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui revealed on Saturday.

During his first one-on-one meeting with President Xi at the Hubei Provincial Museum, Prime Minister Modi told his host that this was his second visit to Hubei province, surprising the Chinese officials, who otherwise keep a track of all bilateral and official visits minutely.

"We didn't know that Prime Minister Modi had visited Wuhan earlier," Luo told the participants of a seminar on the two-day informal summit between the leaders of India and China held in Wuhan city from April 27.

Modi told Xi that when he was the Gujarat chief minister, he had an opportunity to visit central China's Hubei Province on a study tour to learn about the massive Three Gorges Dam. Modi was the Gujarat chief minister from October 2001 to May 2014

"The speed with which you constructed this dam and its scale inspired me. So I came on a study tour and spent a day at the dam," Modi had told Xi.

As the world's largest hydropower project, the Three Gorges project is a multifunctional water control system on the mighty Yangtze river. It comprises a dam stretching 2,309 meters long and 185 meters high, 32 hydropower turbo-generators, a five-tier ship lock and ship lift system.

Luo said China took special care to provide an enabling and comfortable environment for Prime Minister Modi in Wuhan, with the ambassador himself carrying with him table clothes from Gujarat and Assam tea for the visiting dignitary.

While sharing some of the efforts made by the Chinese leadership to make Prime Minister Modi feel at home in the central Chinese city, over 1,000 km from Beijing, Luo said President Xi has met the Indian premier 13 times in the last five years of his first term.

Luo said Chinese officials came to know that Prime Minister Modi liked table clothes from Gujarat. "So we decided to use them during the informal summit."

"We didn't serve Chinese tea to Prime Minister Modi but Assam tea," he said.

During the summit, the two leaders agreed to build on the rich cultures of the two great oriental civilisations and harness the rich human resources of their combined population of 2.6 billion.

President Xi and Prime Minister Modi agreed to step up cultural exchanges by promoting people-to-people links and unleashing the vitality of the two emerging economies.

For this, the two sides have agreed to establish a high-level cultural and people-to-people exchange mechanism, the envoy said.

Work done by Modi for the nation speaks for itself. The way he got respect in China, do you think Rahul or Sonia would have got? Congress is neck deep in corruption. That's why no one within India nor outside respect them.

Trade is the way to go..Baby....ignore fear-mongers and warmongers....
40% of the world's population living peacefully and trading across Himalayas is going to lift the entire World out of
economic slump...
War between India and China is fools dream...it will never happen...in spite of some outside powers wishes ..
Warmongers profit will start going down...their stocks will fall...Those who think of pitting India and China against each other will be disappointed as these two ancient civilizations know how to coexist peacefully.
Again...I say TRADE is the way to go..Baby...lets all Indians and Chinese be rich !

Ideally, India and China should be great friends. Together they should be working against western imperialist designs. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. We are fighting each other instead. Two great civilizations, despite having suffered at the hands of western imperialists, are working against each other instead of working together. Could there be a greater travesty?
Thats because PRC is the new emerging imperialist,neo-colonialist fascist power as evidenced by the behaviour of the country's rulers.Far from cooperating with such a country we should be fighting tooth and nail. However we can not do this till we get a sensible leader who will put our house in order and usher in an era of high economic growth.Economic strength is the only weapon that will succeed against the second
largest economy.Congress and allies have squandered our resources for personal gains and are not capable of delivering anything.BJP under Modi's leadership is our only salvation.

Keep on dreaming.PRC leaders are on a power trip. They are building up their war machine like Hitler did in the 1930s.The usurpers and thugs of Beijing have something else in mind and peaceful coexistence is not it.You got to be deaf not to hear the loudest war drums from Beijing. We are going to need an Indian Churchill to sort it all out .

This extreme fear-mongering is indicator of how some foreign powers are desperate to create enmity between India and China to sell their expensive weapons.
Warmongers are better in propaganda than communists...
India needs to continue making its military stronger but don't get tricked into fear-monger's sinister plan to make India and China fight each other.
Indian leaders are smart enough to see these bloody "divide and conquer" neo- colonialists .
I predict India and China will never be at war with each other....Fear mongers and warmongers will be badly disappointed.

Where do you get this about some foreign powers desperate to create enmity between India and China. What are you reading ?The Hindu - the unofficial Indian organ of the CPC.May be you should read the Global Times to get more accurate opinion of the CPC leadership.PRC stole Aksai Chin, they are claiming Arunachal Pradesh, there are numerous incursions by PLA inside Indian territory, they want to grab Bhutanese territory,PRC defence expenditure for 2018 is $175 billion - second highest in the world after US.Thats the official amount reported by Beijing. The actual amount is probably a lot higher.PRC has been pissing in our backyard - arming Pakistan ,interfering in Sri Lanka,Maldives,Nepal etc,.We should be fuming and mad like hell.Instead we get
this prohumanity bs from the likes of you preaching Chamberlainesque Peace For Our Time nonsense. Its about time we took on PRC by shifting our economic engine in high gear followed by massive military build up.Theres no time to loose.Failure to act will mean 1962 all over again.

This is not 1962...this is 2018...Indian military is very very different and much more powerful than what it was in 1962.
As for China supporting the basket case ..called as Paki...don't worry..Paki can't even handle its own internal s*hit.
One Indian rupee in year 2000 was equal to 90 Pakistani paisa....Now ..One indian rupee equals two paki rupees.

India's defense budget is reaching $70 billion a year whereas Paki can't even cross $10 billion.
Infighting in Paki is going to self destruct Paki...

As for China...there is enough on its plate...in south china sea...Last thing China would like is a conflict with India.
Minor skimishes on border do not indicate a major danger from China...And that's basically my point !
Of course..India needs to keep its military very strong and highly equipped...if any country dare to mess with it. But ..should India allow others to decide who India's enemy is ?

But if some people still want to keep singing the song..."China is coming to get you..China will attack you"
let them sing....Indian public is going to decide how much the truth is in this "China bashing" and "Imaginary China threat"

You are missing the point. We dont need to attack PRC but at the same time we should be well prepared to repulse any hostile moves by PRC.Their high military budget is precursor to serious problems in future. They can not take on US or Japan but India is an easy prey because we have been asleep at the helm for too long under Congress.PRC is biding its time and will pounce when the time is right.

While we are stronger than in 1962 PRC is far more stronger.
"Minor skirmishes........danger from China."Thats what Chcha believed,And he paid the price.
And who are these others deciding who is our enemy.Every schoolboy in India knows who is our enemy #1.Except you of course .
I wonder how many members on this forum agree with you that PRC is an imaginary threat.
For that matter how many people in India agree with your assessment of PRC as a friendly country and pausing no threat.

US put china and Russia on top it's list . china immediately aim is Taiwan SCS and 2nd island chain. So if china and India counter each other it's 2 bird one stone . like china India eventually gonna want India ocean and want replacing US influence in the region . If India and China wasted it's resources to counter each other then it's all good for US

I dont know what you are smoking. You seem to be thoroughly confused like prohumanity. Both anti-west
sinophiles yet prefer to live in the US.Both of you should consider moving to PRC for a dose of reality and to jolt you out of your muddled minds.

Desi.....no need to be angry...everyone has right to voice their opinion...

Do you know..China is India's largest trading partner..with $85.5 billion trade in year 2017 and is going to close to $100 billion by end of year 2018.

The trade highway from China to Kathmandu (Nepal) all the way to Kolkata is being planned...
BCIM (BanglaDesh-China-India -Myanmar ) trade corridor is being implemented by these four nations.

If China wants to attack India....why would China increase its trade to 100s of billions of dollars with India ?

China has close to one trillion dollars invested in US treasury bonds and gradually selling these bonds. China can not take the proceeds of this sale to China because it can cause big appreciation of its currency (Remimby)

So, China is trying to find investment destinations...such as $50 billion in CPEC (china Pakistan corridor)
and has expressed interest in investing upto $300 billion in India in next 5 years.

Lastly, where we live does not matter...we still have the right to look into international affairs from our own point of view and understanding.

You want to create an enemy in China...you can (in your mind)..but India's leadership is thinking of creating a trade relationship with China and prevent any future war...go watch on you tube..PM modi's recent visit to Wuhan (China) to get a dose of reality about what is going on between India and China. In June...don't forget to observe SCO summit. This will give you an insight and break your anti-China mindset created by fake news franchises.

Bottomline..India will trade with both US and China and be partners with both major powers...forget about war.
