And the Bharat Rakshak link shared yesterday, showed 909 has battalion strength

From this article - An infantry battalion usually has a strength of 15-20 officers and 650-800 other ranks (JCOs, NCOs and ORs). RANK AND FILE An infantry battalion is commanded by an officer of the rank of a Colonel.

It seems like there is variation in troop strength depending upon the battalion . So both of us are correct it seems

i think you have comprehension issues or you are just trying to change the topic. We were talking about infantry communications at the platoon and section level not the ballistic helmets they are being issued . You don't require Comtacs for every soldier in a simple infantry section. You already have radio operators with every section responsible for providing communication to the section . Infantry sections operates in a limited radius of 100m , not beyond that and they can effectively relay communication over such a small distance . They are not SF teams which cover long distances with small detatchments of troops , infantry masses it's manpower at the enemy and overwhelms him with firepower and maneuvering .
nope , when they are operating within a limited radius where communication is relayed effectively without requiring special equipment you don't need communications system for every infantry man , that is costly and will waste funds . Regular infantry sections have a defined objective in the battle field where circumstances have predictable results . i will agree with you Only for troops involved in CI ops where uncertainty is high during operations and they require such capabilities where every man can communicate with the rest of the section as well as the SF troops but regular infantry dosen't need this .
The reason why you're talking about comprehension issues is because you never understood my point regarding radios till now, There's three ways a section leader/team leader can communicate within his section: Hand signals, shouting, or by going to each soldier and personally relaying commands. This system is very open to manipulation and can easily result in fault-lines like misunderstood commands, inefficiency in relaying messages and difficulty in communicating over distances to sections split into fireteams etc. If there's one expensive modernisation that takes precedence over everything else like the AK-203, it should be the radios. Not every soldier needs a manpack, but a hand-held alone is more than sufficient and can vastly improve the adaptability and effectiveness of a section in combat.

Indian Army to take 72k rifles from Indian firms that were supposed to be bought from American firm Sig Sauer
After the scrapping of second order for 72,000 Sig-716 rifles from the American firm Sig Sauer, Officials have said that the planned orders for the rifles are now going to be given to the Indian Private Arms manufacturer who have made significant developments in this field.

For example, the Indo-Israeli Joint Venture PLR systems has already started manufacturing all the variants of the Galil rifle and is currently being evaluated by the Indian Army.

Another firm SSS Defense has also presented its new 7.62 millimeters by 39 caliber rifle Ak type Assault Rifle to the Indian Army at the recently held North Tech Symposium 2022. SSS Defence has earlier revealed their P-72 family of Assault Rifles, Carbines and two Sniper rifle variants named Viper and Saber.

We better watch out for Chinese hj 12 .
I don't know why the Russians haven't developed something similar to javelin.
In our tests we get to see some bad quality pics or videos taken by probably a mobile phone .. Chinese getting commentators , proper edit of video.. including drone footage and beautiful girl ...

How does our infantry match up to this?

I'm concerned about the integral artillery firepower of their heavy combined arms brigades.Armoured 120mm mortars,MBRL,3x nine gun SP artillery batteries per arty battalion. How do our armour and infantry match up to this?

The Chinese are really learning and refining the Combined Arms concept since the 1st GW. Visavis India however the best answer is not neccecarily the same. The Terrain, altitude and distance from FOBs will be a constraint. They go from a Plataeu at high altitude into the himalays. How mobile and agile these art pieces are or how adept chinese soldiers are at low AOA engagements (point blank) in the mountains only a real world test will tell.

We wil be playing defensive - Mobile AT teams will be anti artillery and anti armour as well. Ofcourse altitude and terrain will limit the number of ordanance we will be able to climb up those mountains. India doesnt really have the ability to take the fight to the Chinese on the plataeu and we will play to our strenghts - bring them into the mountains.

(i am just keeping Air power out of this) - We will have strategic and tacticial superiority in most parts but will be a brutal war of attrition. CAS maybe intermittent given we will be dealing with numerical superiority in counter Air ops as well. )

The structure of their Combined Arms Brigade ( medium and heavy only) suggests that these are meant to be highly maneuverable and firepower centric . But this structure has it's constraints when we are talking about employing them against india in the himalayas . The terrain suits for armoured warfare in Certain Places like spanggur gap and depsang plains but there is little space to maneuver . armoured and mechanised warfare is all about out maneuvering , out flanking and running over your enemy's defences . But due to the limited space available it is not possible for large Brigade sized formations to out maneuver indian defences which have been dug in pretty well and that too in a limited space with heavy concentration of indian troops per square mile of land . So whatever they will want to do by employing their Heavy and Medium CABGs , we can safely assume that their maneuvering capability won't be a big problem thanks to lack of depth of the areas suitable for mechanised warfare. The other factor besides maneuvering is firepower . heavy and medium CABGs are essentially firepower centric and use it to soften up, weaken and overcome enemy defences rather than using massed infantry that the chinese used before in the wars in Korea ( indian army used a balanced mix of heavy firepower and massed infantry to overcome pakistani positions in kargil because we were not permitted to cross the LoC to outflank their defences ) . Our current structure for armoured brigades is very integrated with all combat arms being present in the brigade and in fact rivals the chinese structure for Heavy CABGS except for the fact that we don't have rocket artillery at brigade level .

And on the Korean battlefield, China relied on the mobile combat of light infantry.
In particular, interspersed operations are carried out in units of companies and platoons, rather than using fortifications to stand firm
I know , I am very avid reader of chinese Military history . I find the PLA a very interesting force . The PLA tactics in Korea absolutely shocked the americans despite being at a technological disadvantage and having no airpower at all back then .
