The latest export version of HQ-9 is claimed to have the capability to intercept ballistic under 1000km. It is highly unlikely to use HQ-9 to intercept low value cruise missile except radar support.
HQ-16 with maxi speed of Mach 3, is not suitable for ballistic missile defense role.

Someone suggested that Pakistan has HQ-9, so she has a missile defense system. That is an underestimation of difficulty of missile defense. The air-defense system (no matter HQ, SM or S-300) is only a part of the missile defense system.

How many were exported? How many were deployed in India?
The answer of both are NONE.

And the serviceability of the HQ9 and its difference from S300 PMU2 ? Its literally a S300 PMU2 like J15 is literally a Su33. BMD phase 1 is already deploying in India.
Pakistani HQ9s are still not servicable. Their Uavs developed rear pump failure and are still down.
Jordans CH4s were on sale soon after purchase.
BMD dosen't even have an export license in India.
