Nirbhay is designed to all lo-lo-lo profile ... it can fly in all modes... sea skimming at 5 meters to continuous ground flying as low as 10-300 meters...

So we are going to test launch Shaurya today.

So Porkykicker is again bang on target. I remember him saying some time back that based on what he has seen the Shaurya missile had been inducted. It was more than a year back. Or two years.

Seems Chinese transgression and incursions have woken the MoD and the armed forces from their deep slumber. They know that they have to fight with what they have and that they need to urgently induct homegrown tech and missiles instead of subjecting them to a plethora of tests and being indifferent to them.

First ,limited nos of pre production Nirbhay missile was deployed. And now we have the Shaurya. This is akin to how we employed the Pinaka way back during Kargil war. 'Baptism by fire'.

Balasore: India today successfully test-fired a new version of Shaurya surface-to-surface nuclear-capable ballistic missile which can hit targets at around 800 kms range. The Missile will complement existing class of missile system&will be lighter&easier to operate: Govt sources

Another feather in the hat of DRDO. What's most important to note is that a new version was tested and that the the missile will complement exisiting class of missile systems. So we are going to induct and deploy Shaurya if the system hasn't been already deployed.

Or the initial Shaurya had already been deployed and this is a user trial of a newer Shaurya.
The improvements I assume are newer all composite solid rocket boosters ,newer higher energy solid prope and better guidance and navigation systems.

All test of nirbhay were conducted abobe BoB , it has not been tested above landmass yet , so Tercom remains untested .
