New Delhi: Milkha Singh, commonly known as “the Flying Sikh”, a renowned track athlete of India has sold his autobiography for rupee one to a film maker in the hope that it will inspire youths of his country to outshine in this sport.

Milkha Singh won the Asian Games champion twice. Once in 1958 (Commonwealth champion) and secondly in 1960 (Tokyo).
The 74 year old Milkha Singh stated that “I feel sad to say that 52 years after I won gold in the Cardiff Games, India hasn’t been able to win gold in track events.”
Rakesh Omprakash, film director stated that “I want Indian youth to understand what determination and purpose can achieve.”
“If a Milkha, who didn’t have access to even basic necessities of life, can aim for the skies, why not others who’ve been provided the best of facilities?”
