Militants not dangerous to Pakistan should not be targeted: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on Monday said that Pakistan should not target militants who do not threaten the country's security.

"Why should America's enemies unnecessarily become our enemies," Sartaj Aziz said during an interview with BBC Urdu.

"When the United States attacked Afghanistan, all those that were trained and armed were pushed towards us.

"Some of them were dangerous for us and some are not. Why must we make enemies out of them all?," he said when speaking about the Haqqani Network.

He further said that the Afghan Taliban are Afghanistan's problem and Haqqani Network is a part of it.

"It's the job of the Afghan government to negotiate with them...We can try to convince them, however things are not the same as they were in the nineties," Aziz said.

When speaking about COAS Raheel Sharif's visit to the United States, the adviser to the PM said that relations between Pakistan and the US are improving.

I wonder how they are differentiating between good taliban and bad taliban during the military operations??

Why are they taking aid from USA all these days?? are they not part of WOT ?? are they playing double game ??

The militants who are dangerous to India and Afghanistan are ok for Pakistan.

ISI is helping the groups like LET, Haqqani groups to do bloodshed in India and Afghanistan.

He means that militants nurtured by Pakistan as a 'strategic weapon'.

Pakistan is indeed a rogue state and this proves it.

Encouraging militants!

WOT and US aid went into the endless pit of Pakistani establishment.
Well said Mr. Foreign Minister !! I would love to pass your statement to some taxpayer friends from the west and then watch the fun unfold.
Don't blame Pakistan, blame the west which made this hell-hole it's major "Non-NATO-Ally". There was a time when Pakistani Jihadis received protection and money from the west.

I would say Blame Pakistan. They should have shown a bit of integrity and selfrespect and brains then to save their a$$ getting pounded everyday these days by terrorists. They should not have weighed it more on the US aide and sold the soul of Pakistan to USA and Pakistan becoming the state that is now. Now there is no point in talkin about this. Its beyond everyones control..

Yeah, they are the produce of Pakistan. The only thing that gets manufactured in Pakistan and shipped all over the world with ISI mark of quality of fanatism.
Terrorits bring in money.

Catch terrorists..USA Pays Money
Put them in Jail - USA Pays money per head.
Make plan to break them free from Jail and call it terrorist attack - USA goes
Catch them again and put them in Jail - USA pays money again.

Its recyclable produce for Pakistan, where fanatism is the raw material and 72 virgins the motivation.

By reading the news article one thing is for sure, these Pakistanis will never ever learn from their mistakes.

Did someone gave him a 'truth-pill' instead of his daily medicine?
