Is it possible to install the Shtora on Indian T-90s? Or have they been built in a way that doesn't allow for the Shtora to be installed?
With Infantry portable Anti-tank weapons becoming more lethal, the lack of an ECM seems like a glaring weakness. I beleive that we should install Shtora or some other ECM system like Arena on our t-90s if possible.

T-90 Bhishma Tank, First `Made in India` Tank rolled out
Chennai: India on Monday rolled out its first indigenously manufactured T-90 Bhishma tank. Minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju flagged off the tank at the rolling out ceremony held at the Heavy Vehicles Factory at Avadi, near Chennai.
The T-90 tank has been produced under license from Russia. The localised licensed production of the Russian made tanks started in 2008 after India resolved the stalemate over the transfer of technology of the tanks.
India had signed a deal with Russia to supply 310 T-90s in 2001. Of these, 186 were assembled from kits at the Heavy Vehicles Factory. Later on, an agreement was also signed for the licensed production of another 1,000 T-90s.
This, however, was delayed due to Russia’s reluctance to transfer technology, prompting India to purchase another 300 tanks from the country last year.
The Indian Army is also slated to conduct competitive trials between the T-90 and MBT Arjun tanks from October.
"The Army will complete training its personnel on the MBT Arjun by September. So, we can start the trials by October," officials said.
The T-90 tank incorporates several new technologies in terms of mobility, protection, fighting capabilities, safety and communication.

The tanks are equipped with the French-designed thermal sights and utilizes India's Kanchan explosive reactive armored plates. In April 2008, the Indian Army sent request for proposals to Rafael, BAE Systems, Raytheon, Rosoboronexport, Saab, and Germany’s IBD Deisenroth Engineering for an active protection system for the T-90S Bhishma. The contract is expected to be worth US$270 million.

There are several sources availiable, which suggest that Only Pre-A T-90 have full Shtora suite. T-90A (Russian Army Version) still have Shtora laser detectors and aerosol smoke grenades but no IR-jamming-lights anymore. They were removed because of insufficient effectiveness against and the hole in ERA-plate coverage they created. And since T-90A has an ESSA sight (the first serially produced belarussian sight with integrated thermal camera (french Thales Catherine)) they also don't need IR-searchlight anymore.
India is definitely shopping for Active Protection System for it's T-90 Bhisma.
Israel Military Industries (IMI) promoted its IRON FIST active protection system (APS) for India's T-90 MBT, which is a possible option for the Indian Army’s request to retrofit all 987 T-90 MBTs, such as protection systems. The Army HQ issued requests for proposals in April last year (2008) to IMI as well as Rafael, BAE Systems, Raytheon, Rosoboronexport, Saab, and Germany’s IBD Deisenroth Engineering. A contract would involve some 1500 systems and is expected to be worth $270 million.
