Adopting cutting-edge technology to conceive futuristic support systems, the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) laboratory based in Bengaluru, has produced mobile robots to reduce casualty in Indian Army.

The robots can be used in low-intensity conflicts and supplant military personnel in surveillance operations. “These are ideal for stealth surveillance and we are working on futuristic scenario,” said CAIR scientists who were displaying the technology at the Pride of India exhibition held as part of the Indian Science Congress here.

“These are technology demonstrators that can be scaled up once cleared for induction,” they said.
On display were various robots with locomotion mechanism technologies, including robots that can be deployed in rough terrains and walking robots. The snake robot was described as ideal to navigate and gather information in a low-conflict scenario like the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. These are manually controlled and the technology combines the latest in computer software, mechatronics and other emerging fields. Besides surveillance, the robots can map the terrain and also be deployed for mine detection before sending the infantry to the war zone.

Vishakapatnam-based Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, a unit of the DRDO, has developed an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) which is not only futuristic but has also propelled India into the league of nations possessing such a capability. “What is significant is that it can be used to carry payload and even if detected and destroyed, there will be no human casualty apart from detecting mines in the sea,” said K. Srikanth, scientist at the laboratory. It could also be deployed for underwater search and surveillance besides intelligence collection.

Mr. Srikanth, who is involved in developing a stealth technology to reduce the “observability” explained that the concept embeds different kinds of technologies to reduce the distance at which the naval ships could be detected. “If the stealth technology is used, a naval ship which is at present detected 100 km away, will come into the enemy observation range only when it is a few km away and give the country an edge”.
The DRDO was represented by 36 of its 52 laboratories from across India at the exhibition and also on display were missile models, aircraft models, airborne and early warning and control system, models of Brahmos, ship sonar model, LCA fighter model, night vision goggle and binocular, RP model of Kaveri engine, snake robot, autonomous search robot, Arjun MVT-MK-1 model, and missile warhead, among others.

I have this exact same Titan HTSE watch, bought it for 9K rupees, fucking stupid watch, don't buy it. It requires at least 15 minutes sunlight charging daily. For those who go to work early in the morning and work indoors all day and come out after sunset, this watch will be a big headache. You have to stand in the sun to charge this watch everyday like a retard.

Bhopal Coach Rehabilitation Workshop releases ‘Aircraft-Like’ Coaches for Indian Railways

These luxury coaches have been designed by Coach Rehabilitation Workshop in Bhopal

Bhopal: With plush interiors, ‘bio-toilets’, illuminated signs and even stairs to climb to upper berths, 20 state-of-the-art rail coaches unlike any other will soon be part of the Indian Railways network.

Designed by the Indian Railways Coach Rehabilitation Workshop in Bhopal, the modern coaches are made to make train journeys comfortable and safe for passengers.

The coaches will be first introduced on ISO certified trains and Rajdhani Expresses

Gone are the blue and brown seats, these revamped coaches feature berths in a striking purple shade. More spacious than older ones, these ‘jerk-proof’ seats promise a far more comfortable journey. Ample use of chrome and matte surfaces lend the coaches a space-age look.

“We have spent around Rs. 14 lakhs on each coach. The interiors are not unlike that of an aircraft with modern seats and other facilities. We will be revamping three more trains. As far as inducting them is concerned, that will happen only after railway ministry clears them,” Ramesh Chandra, General Manager of West Central Railways, told.

Bhopal Railway Coach Rehabilitation Workshop coaches will make you forget even airplane

The coaches have a number of other facilities including fire-proof seats, carpet-like floors, LED reading lights, mobile charging points and an eco-friendly ‘bio-toilet’ system.

Brajesh Pandey, a chartered accountant and a frequent traveller, said, “Over the years railways has been hiking fares but in terms of facilities it has not been able to deliver. It’s good to learn about the modern coaches. I am proud that they are not only made in India but made in Madhya Pradesh.”

As per plans, 111 coaches are to be manufactured by the workshop in Bhopal. The test run of the ready 20 coaches has been successful and after minor tweaks these coaches will sent to Delhi for approval by the Railway Ministry.

I don't want to be a party pooper but TATA is also the biggest supporter readings of essays which endorse Naxal movements through their 'Tata institute of social science' TISS.

Now you may proceed.
Why would they do that ? What do they earn in return ? Leverage against govt.?
But, aren't they known for their trademark probity/integrity (relatively) among Asian business magnates ?
Please share as much details as possible. I am waiting to hear more from you.
