Let's say a Chinese Yuan submarine deploys mines in front of US naval ships. Can a US Littoral Combat Ship with Lockheed Martin underwater drones find the Chinese mines? The answer is currently "no."

The US Navy canceled its purchase of 40 more Lockheed Martin underwater mine-searching drones, because the Lockheed Martin prototype doesn't work (e.g. "persistent reliability problems").

It is important to realize that many US plans to counter Chinese military power only exists on paper. Many of the US ideas do not work in real life.

The concept of using underwater drones to negate Chinese naval mines is currently science fiction.
