Comprehensive thread on the valour of MARATHAS.

If there were no Shivaji everyone would have been circumcised.
GRRANTHAVALI of Kavi Bhushan, quoted in (oxford in India readings, Themes in Indian history)

Here is one more poem by great Kavi Bhushan at Birla House

1653886222259.png

Read these interesting lines (demolishes claim that he as Marauder as Aurangzeb): “But he(Shivaji) made it a rule that whenever his followers were plundering, they should not do harm to the mosques, Quran, or the women of anyone.” Khafi Khan, writes in his Muntakhab-ul-Lubab

Shivaji was not only the maker of the Maratha nation, but also the greatest constructive genius of medieval BHARATA The excerpt is from book “House of Shivaji”.

1653886552880.png

One of the most foremost Historian (considered fountainhead of Indic Historical Writings) JN Sarkar writes: “Shivaji proved, by his example, that the Hindu race could build a nation, (...)”

Then comes another stalwart SITARAM GOEL , who sings praises to Shivaji & says that he was man of importance across nation . He writes

They (those who see Shivaji as Maharashtra concerned) are like street urchins spitting at the sun. @Haldilal

Mansion of Hukumatpanah Ramachandrapant Bawdekar Amatya, one of the most prominent figures from the Maratha Empire during 27 Years' War of Hindu Liberation. Shri Ramachandrapant was the author of the famed Maratha Statecraft Text "Ajnapatra".

1653886855750.png

This fabulous surviving relic of Maratha heritage is at Gaganbawda in Kolhapur. Today it has been slightly renovated only regarding modern furniture pieces but the basic structure is wholly original. The place can be rented as well for home stay travel by regular civilians.

1653886929234.png

Ramachandrapant's brilliant diplomacy forced the Portuguese and Abyssinians to accomodate the Maratha Lords in relocating their children and wives in secure strongholds in their territories, allowing Marathas to unleash their complete power without worrying for their safety

120,000-150,000 Marathas, now without any leash, then went on an unyielding rampage against the mooghals in the largest scale Kshatriya galvanization in the history of Deccan India since days of Maharaja Harapaladeva Chalukya's rebellion against Khaljis.

Hukumatpanah Ramachandrapant Amatya went on to serve in Karveer Faction of the Maratha Empire. This mansion here is a brilliant surviving sample of Maratha housing, located inside a glade in forests of Kolhapur.

1653886980543.png

Simple but elegant, the house is primed more for a family that is extremely outgoing with many male members. The staircases are designed to allow Horses to come right up close to the porch for ease of mounting and dismounting.

Shri Ramachandrapant Amatya belonged to the Marathi Bawdekar Deshastha Brahmin family. His complete name was Shri Ramachandra Nilakantha Bawdekar, born at Kolwan village near the famous cities of Kalyan-Bhiwandi (Bhimapuri).

1653887014308.png

It is said his name "Ramachandra" was bestowed upon him by the great Swami Shri Samarth Ramdasa himself. His descendants, after 27 Years War of Hindu Liberation was over, reside in the beautiful region of Gaganbawda.

1653887024740.png

The Amatya Wada at Gaganbawda likely survives only due to the continuous occupation, and heavy usage of stone as opposed to just wood in most Marath houses. Modern furniture has not ruined the aesthetic of the household which still appears very dignified and old.The Walling is thankfully not plastered and most of the house is not painted, which has preserved the strong appearance. Paint tends to ruin most ancient Hindu architecture. So far it appears Tanjavur Marathas are among the few who cracked the code to balance this.

English Translation of the Ajnapatra of Hukumatpanah Ramachandrapant Amatya:

A Maratha Text on Statecraft. After Arthashastra this is the text which comes closest in historical relevance. @Haldilal

Hoax of GangaJamenitehzib.

The tolerence & patience of Gangetic Plains' Nawabs towards their Hindus in whatever form was a direct reaction to the aggression of the Hindu Maratha Empire. It was a common sense policy to prevent Hindu correligionists from within & outside uniting against Qatabūllāh tyranny.

When we see the debauched, effeminate, obese Nawabs of Gangetic Plains acting all cute and harmless with their hookahs and pure cringe "Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb" culture glorified by Nehru et al, these worthless leeches were actually a side-effect of the rise of Maratha Empire.

Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb before the rise of the MARATHAS is a myth.

The reality behind the tern is that Ganga and Yamuna rivers both were closely used by Nawabs of Agra and Bangāl to disguise themselves as Hindus during Hindu festivals and carry off young Hindu girls through boatsGanga Tehzeeb in the era of Alivardi Khan. Both Alivardi Khan and Siraj-Ud-Daulah are represented as local heroes by leftists in Bangāl who fought for "India" against the Marathas and Britishers. In truth it was Alivardi who gave British the estate of Calcutta against Marathas.

1653887349364.png

Jamuna Tehzeeb in the era of Aurangzeb. Murshid Quli Khan Turkman was one of the countless Mughal officers who used to take advantage of rebellions to capture all beautiful Hindu women from every single village he would conquer and mass-violate them all. This was commonplace.

1653887367244.png

After Maratha Retributive Massacres of Rohillas, the broken Rohillas also followed this slimy practice of Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb. By the time Britishers came they praised Rohillas to the heavens as most tolerant Qatabūllāh ruling community of India, forgetting Maratha schooling. The Awadhi, Bangāli Nawabs were all low-testosterone effeminate predators. The men who fought for them had no character as well. It was a case of Cowards serving the Debauched. It is a matter of shame that embarrassments like Plassey, Buxar are more famous in India than Panipat.

Maharaja Aparaditya Shilahara — The Smarta Maratha King of Konkan Paschima Chakravartin Aparaditya (1170—1197 CE) of the Shilahara Kula was renowned for his Shastric learning. He authored one of the most acclaimed commentaries on Yagnavalkya Smriti by name "Apararka Tika"

Fame of this commentary had reached even Kashmir where the Pandits STILL use it as a standard Law Book. Though Maharaja Aparaditya hailed from a Kulin Maratha dynasty, He was a Smarta by faith. The Mangalacharana shlokas of his Tika make it amply clear that He was an Advaitian.

In the Shlokas attached below, the Maharaja offers his Namaskaras to the Parabrahman who "Creates, Sustains and Destroys" the Jagat. In the next Shloka, Maharaj identifies the Parabrahman with the Non-Dual Atman which is Shuddha Bodha, Abhaya, Sukha-Sat-Svabhava, Ananta and Aja.
1653887532076.png

This Non-Dual Atman itself manifests as Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva at time of Creation, Sustenance & Dissolution of Jagat. It is interesting to note that Maharaj beholds NO difference in Trimurtis & has NO qualms in establishing them as non-different from the Supreme Non-dual Atman. Thus, we find an example of an ancient Maratha King who subscribed to the tenets of Smarta Advaita Hindu Dharma Sampradaya. One can see the same principles in the works of Shri Adi Shankaracharya's student Vartikakara Bhagavan Sureshvaracharya as well.

(Vartika on Br.Up. 3.7) SvatastvakarnoDeho Nirgunobheda eva cha | By itself Antaryāmi, is without any organs.

@Tactical Doge @Haldilal

Internal feuds between MARATHAS were crazy. Full of revenge & bloodshed. Maharaj Vanangbhupal Nimbalkar died when his Son Vanangpala was just 9 years old. Another Maratha Shiledar dethroned that Son and usurped Phaltan Kingdom. His Mother migrated with him to Indapur Kingdom.

1653887749567.png

Vanangpal Parmara grew up, raised an army & marched back into Phaltan, retaking it by force. Maharaja Vanangpal then IMMEDIATELY launched a campaign, marching as far as Satpura to punish the many Bhil banditry who had risen to power in peak chaos of Durgadevi Famine of 1396 CE.

Yes, this event occured in *1396 CE* when Bahmani Empire was just a few decades old & entire Deccan was reeling with due to catastrophic famine. It was MARATHAS alone keeping the country land secure & protected from inroads of bandits. Maratha Konkan was not even conquered yet.

Khaljis fully broke central Maratha authority at Devagiri in 1318. The instability that followed due to Tughlaqs resulted in War of Daulatabad climaxing with founding of Bahmani Empire in 1347. Yet it was Marathas alone defending locals for 78 YEARS with their OWN resources.

1653887824191.png

As illustrated by this one example. The Maratha prince returned to his kingdom with eyes set on Higher goal of liberating his rightful ancestral resources to use them for restoring order and security in Deccan by *himself*. There was NO reliance on aloof Mleccha governments.

It was/is an unwritten tradition in Maharashtra that conquest of any territory legitimately, even of Patiliki rank of a Maratha needed one to kill all the family's living male heirs in public view, to fully solidify one's regime otherwise these examples of reconquest were common.

The Indapur Kingdom mentioned earlier, was under rule of Kadambas who would not fall under direct Mleccha rule until late 1400s when Majlis-Ul-Rafi Yusuf Adil Khan subdued Maharaja Mukundrao's revolt against Bahmanis & went on to establish the Adilshahi Empire with their support.

Genealogy of Jadhavraos from Devagiri Samrat Ramachandradevaraya YadavrayaGenealogy of the Maratha Clan of Jadhavraos from the last sovereign Maratha Emperor before Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaja, Pratap Chakravarti Ramachandradevaraya Yadavraya Samrat of Devagiri

1653887919806.png

From the Book of Padma Bhushan awardee Riyasatkar G. S. Sardesai. Here is the complete Genealogy of 96 Kulin Maratha Clan of Yadavrayas (Jadhavraos), the Direct Descendants of Bhagwan Shri Krishna who carried titles like Dwarkapuravaradhiswara, YadavNrupati, Shri Vallabha, etc.

The Last Maratha Emperor Pratap Chakravartin Ramachandradevaraya Yadavraya Samrat of Devagiri was such a Great Renowned Soul that generations later, his godly descendant Hindupati Padshah Thorale Chattrapati Shahu Maharaja boasted of noble descent, specifically evoking him!

1653887947224.png

We shall now see how Jadhavrao Marathas survived the Islamic Onslaught into Deccan. Praudha-Pratapa Chakravarti Ramachandradevaraya Yadavraya Samrat was known as "Turukoplava Medini-Samuddharana Maha-Varaha" "The Great Varaha who Plunged into Ocean of Turks & Rescued the Earth"

Maratha Mahakavi Narendra in his Rukhmini Swayamvara described Samrat Ramchandradevaraya Jadhavrao as — "म्लेंछ मंडळींचा काळयवनु : जो दक्षिण रावो कालदमनु" "A Kalayavana on Mleccha hordes, the Raya of Deccan who is an embodiment of Kaal." The entire eulogy is a masterpiece.

1653887963676.png

TRANSLATION: "A Kālayavana on Mleccha hordes, the Dakshina Lord who is like the embodiment of inexorable Time himself. A Lighting Bolt smashing the Turks, A Tumultuous Tidal-Wave of Swords! The Glory of Hinduism, A Weapon of the Hindu Devas himself!"

1653887992116.png

The Purushottampuri Plates of Praudha Pratapa Chakravarti Yadava-Nrupa Ramchandradevaraya Samrat clearly record him sending Maratha armies to the North to liberate Kanyakubja and Varanasi from the hordes of Mlecchhas and even build a Golden Temple of Vishnu at Varanasi.

A Brief Compendium History of Jadhavraos 1. Samrat Ramadevrao Jadhavrao of Devagiri, the last Maratha Sovereign Emperor. Died in 1309 CE. The greatest Hindu Ruler of his time. The famous traveller Ibn Batuta called him the "The Most Powerful of Infidel Kings" (in the world).

1653888125087.png

2. Shankardevrao (1309–1312 CE) who had nearly killed Alauddin earlier was retained as Devagiri Samrat by Alauddin Khalji on the condition of a hefty ransom paid yearly. He deliberately held back tribute & as punitive measure, the famed Malik Kafur was deployed against Devagiri.

1653888140998.png

Shankardevrao was defeated & killed by Kafur. Thus, Devagiri Empire fell permanently. 3. Shri Govindadevarao (1312 to 1380 CE):- Grew up under regency of his rebel uncle Maharaj Harpaladeva Chalukya & fought Sultan Mubarak Khalji's general Khusrau Khan & other infamous Mlecchas.

1653888151462.png

Govindadeorao led the Maratha rebellion against Tughlaqs and likely led the Maratha force which destroyed Tughlaq armies outside Warangal, flayed Malik Tigin and nearly killed Sultan Muhammad Bin Tughlaq himself. Only 10 of Muhammad Bin Tughlaq's soldiers survived by the end.

Image

Shri Govindadevrao helped establish the Sassanid Bahmani Sultanate against Tughlaqs and mentored the first two Bahmani Emperors. But later famously rebelled against Bahmanis by gathering all Maratha Naiks and established his own independant kingdom in Hatnur.

1653888187697.png

4. Thakorji (1380 to 1429 CE):- He controlled the Deshmukhi of more than 50 Pranths inherited from his father, Maharaja Govinddevrao. He helped the Bahmanis against the Tughlaq remnants and was granted Deshmukhi of Sindkhed. The Yadavas finally became vassals of Bahman-Shahis.

1653888206861.png

5. Bhukandevrao (1429 - 1500 CE):- Joined the Ahmednagar Sultanate faction after the Shattering of Bahmanis and held the status of a Vassal Raja under the Ahmednagar Sultan.

Achalkarnarao or Achloji (1500 to 1540 CE):- The Maratha General in the grand Battle of Rakshas Tagdi (1529 CE) from the side of the 5 Deccan Sultanate Alliance against the Vijayanagar Empire.

1653888221151.png

Lakshmansimhadevrao or Lakhujirao (1570 to 1629 CE):- The great Maharaja of Sindkhed & Sardeshmukh of 52 Pranths. Lord of Bargiryan, addressed by Mughals as "Sahiban-E-Dakkhan Jadaun Rai". Father of Maharani Jijabai Bhonsale. Maternal Grandfather of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

1653888241256.png

A Book of Obituaries on Mughal Empire Generals "Maathir-Ul-Umara" by Nawab Shams-Ud-Daulah Shah Nawaz Khan describes Maharaja Lakhujiraje Jadhavrao as belonging to same Yaduvansh (Jadawān) Clan to which Krishna (Kishan) belonged, proving even MLECCHAS knew Kulin Maratha heritage.

Avenging the Panipat.

Najib-Ud-Daulah's family, chief architect of Panipat conflict, underwent later during Maharaja Mahadji Shinde's Revenge Campaign against Rohillas. Najib's son Zabita fled to Sikh lands & converted to Sikhism! Son of "Saviour of Islam" had to become a Sikh!

1653968476603.png

After invading Delhi in 1771, Marathas obtained sanction from the puppet Mughal Badshah himself to pursue and purge the Rohilla Pashtun cream threatening North India. Marathas then began their rampage against Rohilla Pashtuns, cutting down all who were responsible for Panipat.

Years later Ghulam Qadir invaded Delhi in order to get money to use against Marathas and looted over 25 Crores Rupees. He then avenged himself on his pederast Shah Alam II by conducting atrocities on the Mughal family. Marathas then pursued Qadir & tortured him slowly to death.

1653968492087.png

Najib's corpse shredded to pieces and tomb demolished. His Son leaves his family behind and flees, converts to a sect of the very religion his father had fought against & passes away in obscurity. Grandson is castrated & becomes a catamite of the Mughal Badshah. A fitting end.

"Paristiti jyodi viqat. Marāthā tyodās tiqhat!"

Panipat was fully avenged, by human efforts as well as divine intervention, within decades and closed as a chapter.

Maharaja Shahajiraje Bhonsale donated a Golden Idol to Jejuri Mandir, probably of Martanda Malhari himself, worth over One LAKH Rupees for the fulfilment of his son Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj's mission of Hindu sovereignty, defense of Gods, Cows & Brahmins and Sanatan Dharma.

1653969382332.png

Each gram of gold in that era was approximately around 1.36 Rupees. So 1 Lakh Rupees worth of a Murti would have weighed almost 80 kg in gold!

Defensio Indicaram Missionum was a book written by a Jesuit Lainez published in Rome, Italy, in 1707 CE, the year Aurangzeb died after his defeat in Maharashtra. In this book Lainez speaks on history of Deccan and reports that: "The whole of India was in Terror of SHIVAJI..."

A contemporary era Jesuit Father Andre Freire described Chattrapati SHIVAJI Maharaj during His Dakshin Digvijay, 1678 ce. He was hailed as a sagacious & experienced man who banished musalmans from His kingdom and "treated them with great dishonour and desecrated their mosques!"

1663825436667.png

It was Nazib khan and Shah Waliullah who wrote letters to Abdali invited him to invade India again nd check the rising powers of Marathas over whole Hindustan and save retreating muslim powers in India.
