This is what I always try to explain to those myopic people who rush to import for every small/random reason.

This is the one of benefit of having our own platform. Imagine, we could not have mastered EW configuration even for Su-30mki or any other jet despite of flying them for decades.

This proactive step of ADA will help to reduce MWF development time significantly and will emerge as a Beast in Indian subcontinent.

Though, As usual Imported Air force will not support it and will demand something fancy but one day when they would get kicked in back, will accept gracefully.

I will try to explain one last time.
As IAF's doctrine on , sensors from other assets are also used to improve situational awareness. In-short network is also treated as a independent senor/sensor-array.
Most of these networks are low latency networks and can be formed on ad-hoc manner.

As for AFNet it is not just communication over WAN/LAN. It is an hybrid network that is used to exchange data between different Indian Military assets.
Its primary backbone is integrated Fibre network with satellite backup. Its is capable to use LOS communication technique as well has military adaption of civilian like 4G (LTE), 5G, etc. AFNet also has provision for point to point communication via data-link.
You need to understand the main point - situational awareness to who ?
sensor fusion in a jet provide situational awareness to pilot and sensors in AFNet provide it to commanding officers. AFNet works with or with out rafale or mwf. Is sad to hear internet can handle ad-hoc.

I know what AFNet is and its full potential for iaf, its more than a n/w centric warfighting and it include peace time operations according to iaf. AFNet is connected with all major civilian rf sensors in air ports, iaf bases, navy rf sensors, airborne sensors, A&N and goes on plus daily operations of Iaf including spare, logistics, maintenance etc.

when AFNet launched, there is no rafale or mwf [no sensor fusion] that why iaf saying rafale is a game changer weapon system. AFNet comes under iaf thread and sensor fusion of jet under fighter jet thread, satellite comes under isro or joint military thread. question is about sensor fusion and not about - data/transfer vs aew, other fighter jets, base, command center, mod etc or about commanding operation on ground.

LCA is unproven platform. The user IAF itself has not inducted it in large numbers. It is stupidity for anyone to invest huge amount on an unproven platform. Even Rafale remained unsold until Libyan campaign.

kindly come out of your neverland...indian defence exports are growing steadily and the latest sale of brahmos is only a good indication of that!
"The user IAF itself has not inducted it in large numbers"-- i think the order of 83 mk1a is enough to signal the maturity of the platform and the IAF trust on the technology that they are getting from it. also...JF17 is unproven as well...because bombing your own civilians is not really combat worthiness, fictional war stories from swift retort also dont add to the credibility not to mention the numerous crashes that such a new fighter has has so far...
Tejas can carry almost 4 tonnes of ammo, with a combat radius of over 500 Km, low maintenance, with most supplies now being done in indian industries except for the engine, with capability that has impressed several service chiefs so far and enough to mkae the JF17 chicken out of every airshow it has so far took part in. Tejas is the best fighter of its class, and its value lies in the fact that by 2027, India will have showcased the capability to design and develop advanced aerospace platforms, like stealth fighters, medium weight fighters, AESA radars, BVRs, standoff missiles, and turbofan engines without afterburner section...ALL THESE cant be just discounted by ridiculing on the basis of whether Tejas finds its customer or not....LCA Tejas is a fighter aircraft built to defend India...it is not a prostitute that needs suitors to realize its own value. such deals always have factors other than fighting abilities. the only other two contenders are FA50(a trainer converted to fighter, which is inferior than LCA and will not barter trade in palm oil , but with better export performance) and Hurjet that is being offered as joint develpement by Turkey that is under american sanctions and shaky economy.
tejas has the best chance to win the bid...and if it loses it...it will certainly not be because of its worth!

Agreed the Brahmos inducted in large numbers in India. The performance and trials speak for itself

Order and actual service is a different game. As it is said seeing is believing.
Forget JF-17, but until LCA sees service and hopefully combat service. Question will remain.
Note HAL will be put under greater scrutiny courtesy bias against Indian products, and competition from other stable suppliers.

End game is did you win the tender or no. time will tell.
Personally I don't want it in Malaysia, a state that is notoriously anti India. Better increase numbers for IAF.

Wouldn't them buying your fighters make them dependent on you and hence less likely to go bat shit crazy against you? Does it not give you more leverage?
Correct. Also, tejas is not some super crazy tech. I can understand not giving them the best grade stuff we make like Astra, but even those can be given with slight modifications and reductions.
