"Tejas Trainer, on display for the first time, would also afford the opportunity of independent sorties for the Sri Lankan pilots, accompanied with the Indian pilots whilst adhering to relevant strict health guidelines, the statement said.
During the deployment, the officers from Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Navy will also have firsthand experience onboard the Indian Navy’s Maritime Patrol Aircraft Dornier, it said.

Sri Lanka 'Priority One' partner in defence: India

Otherwise it looks a bit too out of the blue.

I hear some US expert praised Tejas and said it’s better than F16 and cheap too it’s the best available fighter jet in the market in its category

More like he praised India as a defence market more then he praised LCA. And also cried....'China, why u no democracy so that we can sell you more weapons then poor India'

No IAF won’t unless and until there are no options available, IAF will never like to use M2K and UPGs after 2030 as the aircrafts till then will become 50 year old, and eventually will become MiG-21s for us.
Not all of those we acquired 10 Mirage later plus the upgrade will increase their life too. So they are going to be used beyond or atleast till 2035.

Infact Navy is highly likely to transfer their Mig 29 to IAF once they received replacement. That's why IAF asked for AESA in upgrade package with Mig 29s.

Mig 21 airframe wasn't meant for a 40 yr life span where they will be used extensively apart from the fact it was pretty tough to fly and we had to send our rookie pilots directly to mig 21 due to lack of trainers and fighter jets. Many , crashed due to pilot faults.

Our training before Hawk and Pilatus had taken a huge hit and most pilots had partially completed the course prescribed .

Mark 1 got nothing... Just radarwarning reciever & chaff-flares.

Mark 1A gets AESA radar & a self-protection jammer. Elta-8222 (google for capabilities) was supposed to be integrated but not done yet, possibly top be replaced with DRDO jammer.

MWF & Teddy will get active escort-jammers & possibly towed decoy and/or RCS mimicking EW drones.

one question -----------As usually told there is a threat library of an ew suite(like spectra or any other ew suite) in which signature of adversary aircraft r stored. So my question is what advantage does a threat library gives if we have signature of adversary aircraft stored in it,and what disadvantage is there when any new aircraft that is not in the threat library pops up as adversary?

usually people talk about updating the threat library and iaf even acquired the facility fram dassault to add their data of threats to spectra,
On one forum i read that a plane whose signature is stored in threat library can be detected even by a faint picture is painted on the radar ,i dont know it is correct or not , i think it means library is like cache memory that is program opens fast on a system if it is stored in cache already

Help to identify the threat faster and further, help to counter the threat before it takes any action.

Library is basically a memory which helps you identify threats faster. Once you identify threat library along with system AI presents you with what kind of capabilities enemy might use including rarar info and weapons range. The system them could suggest countermeasures to the piolet .

Threat library is enriched by training excercises. Like india vs Singapore f16. And real time experience like in balakot.

That's why su30 didn't unleash it's full might while porky f16 exposed themselves fully and are now out of tricks.

does it also help in identifying the threats earlier if adversary is already in the library?suppose j20 is now in the threat library of spectra so can rafale detect j20 at more range than it detected the first time
