Indian government clears $6.5 billion deal for homemade Tejas fighter jets
It might be business and other political reasons but will definitely like to thanks Israel and France for the support they gave to make this happen.

GE Engine, Israeli Radar Derby ER and Indian avionics etc is what differentiate Tejas from J 10 J 11 Jf 17 like older gen fighter jet.

I doubt even J 20 isn't tech capable in comparison to Tejas. I might be wrong but chances are Tejas will be able to take out J 10/11/15/16 easily and hopefully J 20 too.

Battle is won and the war is pending.

Expect lot of rubbish being printed out with any minor shortcomings in LCA MK1. Grow an thick hide, we will reap the benefits in future proj like Mk2/AMCA.

No we must be paying high cost for it monetary or political.

I had heard there is a double engine Tejas derivative with canards on the front, anyone here know what this project is called? also are there any airtunnel models, diagrams, or photos of it?

Tail like J-10. He informed a long back.

No no, those are downward vertical-tails, like in Jf-17 or Su-30.

This tailed delta concept is developing based on NLCA Mark2 concept... No canard, but a LERX.

Expect final product to look pretty much like this... LERX will start a vortex that would require vertical stabilizers like F-18 or Mig-29.

Noob Question: Why MK1 integration with Python prioritized?

Shouldn't the priority be Derby-ER (Simpler I guess), ASTRA, Gun possibly.

If Derby-ER is used then using Python-5 over ASRAAM is preferable (R-73 has failed to even hit flares in exercises)... But with Astra Mk1, ASRAAM would be the better partner.
