The actual unit cost of the Tejas Mk-1A is just north of Rs 300 crores, if you strip away ancillary allocations related to infrastructure etc. I will write a detailed piece as promised.

This makes too much logical sense for the GoI to do, especially the Modi government. Isn't it true too though that once the infrastructure is set up, then it essentially pays for itself with significantly less ancillary costs as well?
