Mk1a deal was supposed to be signed in this fiscal year, they said the same thing last year too, but iirc HAL is already working on Mk1a and they have specified that it won't matter when the order, hoping they don't act too lethargic, since work has already started on mk1a.
Considering the reiterated support of Air Chief, him saying IAF has the full backing of the project should give enough weight for people having doubts, including me  .....
Also, hopefully, we will see new FOC variants this month, mk1 here.

Dynamatic Technologies has completed fabrication of the first front fuselage section of FOC variant of Tejas .

Once the production stabilises for the wings and the three fuselage sections , HAL will be able to build upto 20 -24 Tejas mk1 per annum.

This is a significant achievement. The first step towards building the complete aircraft in house.

Look at the surface finish. It's too notch.

HAL Gets First Front Fuselage For Tejas FOC Variant From Dynamatic Technologies
BANGALORE: India‘s lone, state-run aircraft maker Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has got delivery of the first front fuselage of the indigenous ‘TEJAS‘ Light Combat Aircraft‘s Final Operational Clearance variant from the private sector city-headquartered Dynamatic Technologies Limited.

“Dynamatic has built the first front fuselage for the FOC version of the ‘TEJAS’ Light Combat Aircraft. This is the first time a complex fuselage section for a supersonic fighter aircraft has been built by a private sector company,” Dynamatic Technologies Limited’s statement said today.

The completion of the first front fuselage was witnessed by HAL Chairman and Managing Director R. Madhavan and addressed by India’s Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar from a virtual conferencing platform.

“I am extremely happy and honoured to join in this historic occasion, when the first front fuselage of LCA has been handed over to HAL. I would like to heartily congratulate Dynamatic and HAL TEJAS team, who have made this joint partnership greatly successful,” Dr Ajay Kumar said at the event.

“I think this is the model for PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) and private industry partnership in defence and aerospace sectors. We hope that this example will hold good stead for several other partnerships by HAL and other PSUs as well.”

Dynamatic has been a preferred production partner for HAL for over three decades on all their major platforms.

“The future generations of TEJAS will continuously grow and we continue to see this an an evolutionary journey, which will take India to newer heights in the fighter jet aircraft segment,” Dr Ajay Kumar said.

“Dynamatic has done it again by delivering the first front fuselage of TEJAS. The TEJAS program has a requirement of 20 aircraft sets a year and will grow with Mk2 and AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft),” Madhavan said in his remarks on the occasion.

“Dynamatic is a known and reliable supplier for HAL, and we will also look for opportunities on the trainers and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) platforms.”

In his comments, Dynamatic Technologies chief executive officer and managing director Dr Udayant Malhoutra said his company has been privileged to be a production partner of HAL and the Ministry of Defence for three decades now.

“The industrialisation of TEJAS has gone through many upgrades during the build process,” Malhoutra said.

“This is the FOC version with a mid-air refuelling probe, and is a tremendous success story both for indigenous defence production, and for public-private-partnership with HAL.”

I hear that each Tejas happens to be different from the previous one because of improvements made in each one of them but from now on they will be same and will have interchangeable parts which will make Tejas more maintenance friendly and cheap
Hope Availability rate reaches 90%+.

Only in test flying stage. Once you get into IOC stage, the design should be frozen unless some big problems discovered.

If the parts can't be interchangeable, that will be big issue in the quality of your production line.

Sometime I feel people on this forum just wait for a propaganda to fall into it, just throw a lie and they will catch it and keep it for years. In the series of countless lies against Tejas This is new one "The Interchangeability"

Tejas IS not being manufactured by a Local tailor so that every time Tejas have to give its measurement.

There are few thing like glass Canopy changed in IOC but its only glass which is changed not airframe. Similarly there are some panels where holes were drilled manually so you cant interchange it. That's it !!

TD and PVs were cannibalized for LSP so this issue is not that big. Such panels can be made on short notice or need to keep in spare.

As Tejas parts are being supplied by tier 2/3 companies so Parts need to be standardize to insure smooth assembling at HAL. It is not an issue of Tejas itself but it being done to speed up Production.

Obviously. This is why Tejas parts have been standardized down to the micrometer; so they are interchangable.

P.S. Aren't you the same guy who was denying Uyghur enslavement in support of the Chinese government in the China Economy thread?
