I Hope the delivery of remaining 15 Aircraft for No. 18 Squadron is completed by September 2020 deadline as per wiki, I hope there are no delays in delivery schedule despite Covid-19. Why the Air force has put additional caveat for trainer aircraft to have Air to Air Refueling probe? HAL is stating that this move would delay the delivery of aircraft, Can these trainer aircraft which are two seaters can be used for ground attack roles? with more than 90 Mig-21 waiting to be replaced? why IAF puts additional caveats again and again? 8 trainer aircraft which were to be delivered has got delayed?

A-2-A refueling training needs to be done... & the trainer-aircrafts are going to be with full operational capability.

Wiki is not updated....the covid19 will delay the production
Bdw total 18(4+4+10) trainers will be built,of foc standard s.
So ifr is a must .
Again all trainers fighter trianers means will be used in combat
Then hal is preparing a 3rd line ,which will produce trainers.
Trainers will be produced after the completion of foc variant s.

It will take time, 12 more single sitter will be inducted in recent time. Because trainer version has not been modified to FOC.

The original design of the LCA Tejas with a cracked delta wings .
There was also a design with a pure delta with canards. Many designs were put forth. Since the canards added more FCLAWs and increased the cost it was dropped. I still think adopting the LCA navy as an airforce version will suffice.

I think import lobby is trying hard to sabotage the deal and that's why we are seeing the delay
Don't be surprised if the deal is not signed on December and will be even postponed further
How can import lobby sabotage the deal when we can't import an equivalent system ? LCA is for IAF's light aircraft requirement, What equivalent is present which you think we can import ? Deal will be signed when Finance Ministry approves money for it. Given the current economic condition it might not be in priority list.

Tejas mk1a is a done deal.....hal has already ordered some subsystem s for mk1a....so don't worry......
And we will see mk2 lsp flying before mk1a production variant flies

As mk2 is managed by Ada
And mk1a is managed by hal
Mk2 lsp will fly in 2022(speculation)
Mk1a production variant 2024(3 yrs after deal signed)

Lsp s are for testing purpose, will be used by Ada for further development...its not for iaf....
Bdw iaf has said that it will order 200 Tejas mk2
What production rate are they gunning for in mk 2.
Assuming production starts in 2025.
Let's say production is 20 per year thats still 100 till 2030 and 200 till 2035.

Ya......the rafales India got in 2020 will be in service till 2050 atleast....
So the mwf which is very much nearer to 5th gen fighter will be a very capable fighter 2050 too.....
5th generation fighter s are costly their maintenance is costly too.......
We will not see many 5th gen fighter s...in service
Russia just ordered 70 su57
Amca will come after 2035 only.....
Again who are our adversaries china and Pak
When iaf says Rafale will defeat j20 ...then mwf will be too ...
And Pak will have jf17 blk 3...may be a new. Single engined 5th gen fighter j31.... developed by China.......
Mwf will take care all of them
They are saying for mk1a the production rate will be 18+..
Hope for mwf the production rate will be higher....
Tejas has made the ecosystem....the supplier s it Tejas mk1 will supply for mk1a..there after for mwf...

The positioning of refueling-probe in Mark1A may have been altered.
tejas1.jpg

The Aircraft Research and Design Centre (ARDC), a wing of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has completed the structural design of the new variant of Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mk1A. The provisional set of drawings has also been released, which will finally be cleared by the certifying agencies.

The integration of new systems will begin early next year, followed by series of rig tests and later the all critical flight tests. It is expected close to 200 flight trials will be undertaken before all new systems are being proven as per the requirements and satisfaction of Indian Air Force (IAF).

Unlike the early versions of Tejas, ARDC will be the lead designer of Mk1A programme as per its work-share arrangement with Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). The metal-cutting is expected to commence one year after the contract finalization and as things stand now, the Tejas Mk1A will have its first flight during the last quarter of FY 2022-23.

It is certain that the designers and engineers are leaving no efforts to create real estate on Tejas Mk1A to address long-term manoeuvrability issues. New set of cables are to be in increasing more space inside the aircraft. (...not sure what this lady part means.)
