Have no idea how this type of arrangement works?!

RR, already knows how to make engines.
Would this deal mean they would share their people with knowledge in making engines to help us?

But india doesn’t have the IP rights DRDO or GTRE cannot modify the technology to fit with LCA Tejas or Jaguars

Not just workshare but india will own the technology and have rights to modify and export it RR is sharing the IP for the first time maybe India is going to pay a huge amount but it’s worth

Better photo...

can u post all the fuel tanks of tejas with capacity.
Now, we know that the 800lt drop-tank is for midboard pylon, below:
Tejas_tandem_bombs_&_midboard_drop_tanks.jpg

1200lt one are for inboard pylons you commonly see & the centreline drop-tanks are confusing... 725lt one is obviously this rarely used one. Apparently FOC jets can use it but never seen with one, probably because it can only add <200km range due to upoptimised for the drag increase.

I reckon that supersonic drop-tank from Aero India-19 is only 450lt & they're trying to come up with a drag optimised 710lt. (Info & diagram: DDR)

The 1200lt is being replaced by an optimised 1360lt DTP6 with minimal drag increase.

Don't think RR has the engines for 110KN+. I guess it's an attempt to get India to invest in Tempest. IP workshare will be conditional to India investing and committing an number to Tempest jets. The rewards would be IP for 110KN engine when in fee years, 120-140KN engine will become an norm.

They are smart. India can invest if provided some workshare in Tempest design. But will lead to too much duplication. We have Amca, plus we aren't still out of FGFA yet, F35 whispers and now this. Britain wants to go back to tech glory days riding on India's money as if looting India wasn't enough.

Same thought here.

Tempest would need adaptive cycle engine totally different technology.

I am not talking of Tempests engine. India can still take part in Tempest JV without getting IP rights on that engine, if RR is ready to part with 110Kn engine which India needs for Amca. And that's what I believe they are planning on.
Tempest size would be pretty similar to AMCA only slightly bigger as UK / sweden would need to export it hence it can't be much bigger or costly.

And at that size we could simply build AMCA derivatives for 6th gen needs.

Oh, so it was never actually launched?
Isn't the Python capable of 20km+ ranged IRST guide passive homing hits?.. Can ASRAAAM do that?
ADA intended to launch the Python 5 and had a few carriage trials but the missile was never launched as the larger number of control surfaces caused vibrations at high mach numbers. They fiddled around quite a bit with it but the progress was slow and it seems to be not a priority anymore.

The service most probably go with the ASRAAM as the new NGCCM fleetwide as MBDA has been favorable to the IAF's terms. Besides like you mentioned about the Python, ASRAAM too can be guided passively via IRST and be cued with HMDS to significant distances. Add to that the sizeable stocks already in the works for the Jag fleet, the Tejas too will sport it in the coming years, as will some other platforms.

RR has very advanced Engine Technology. EJ 200 is Basically RR. They also developed F136 for F35 but it was not accepted for production.

It will be a good tie up if it takes place. They can also be touched upon for IMRH Engines in future
