On September 28 and 29, the crew of the Zeus Squadron (1st GTT) performed short landing training using the KC-390 Millennium multi-mission vector. The activity took place in Anápolis (GO), at the Anápolis Air Base (BAAN), and in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), at the Santos Dumont aerodrome (SBRJ).

The design of the activity was initiated after meticulous planning, scenario analysis, as well as theoretical instructions on the performance of the aircraft, proper piloting techniques and aspects aimed at increasing flight safety, with the purpose of training pilots for operation on runways characterized by short lengths.

On September 28, the practical training, held in Anápolis, consisted of the implementation of the rejected landing method, that is, aborting the landing right after touching the runway, performing immediate takeoff, as well as closing the complete landing cycle with the total stop of the aircraft in the shortest allowable distance. For this purpose, the post-landing races were measured through markings of 1,000 meters, 1,200 meters and 1,500 meters available on the right side of the runway, for a total of 3,300 meters in length.

In the city of Chihuahua, the Safran Group has the largest aircraft harness plant in the world, with 6,000 square feet and 1,894 workers, who design and produce 95 percent of the Boeing 787 harnesses and 80 percent of the Boeing 787 harnesses. cent of Airbus A350.

This was reported yesterday by Alejandro Baca, Carlos Contreras and Suad Anchondo, managers of Business Development, Continuous Improvement and Purchasing, respectively of Safran Electrical and Power Chihuahua during their conference "Need for the Aeronautical Industry in Electrical Systems" offered at the Mexico Assembly Wiretech.

The Business Development Manager stressed that in Chihuahua there are three engineering services in its plant, which was born 15 years ago to provide services within the plants in a matter of redesign, creation of new concepts, and technology development.

What previously each company had individual efforts to create new projects, such as the development of Industry 4.0, automation, innovative mechanical and electrical designs, are now centralized in Safran Engineering Service, which has a presence in eight countries.

Engineering services are provided not only to Safran but also to other companies in the aeronautical industry.

The Chihuahua office became the center of excellence for electrical design, Carlos noted.

In turn, Carlos Contreras, manager of Continuous Improvement, indicated that four plants operate in Chihuahua, one in the Industrial Complex, Las Américas, whose main activity is the Airbus A350, A330 and A320 programs, mainly electrical wiring.

In order to have a reference of the volume of wiring that a plane requires to place them in a linear way, it could go around the earth eight times, so what has been done in Chihuahua exceeds a large amount, considering that it has already been in operation for 31 years.

Safran also has Plant Two in the Chihuahua Industrial Complex and the main products are the Boeing 787 and 767 aircraft wiring.

This is the third floor, it is located in the same building, where the third floor is located, which has engineering services as an activity and finally the fifth floor where the Boeing programs are held.

In turn, Suad Anchondo said that Safran is a company with more than 76 thousand employees in the world and has a presence in more than 30 countries and has five primary divisions, that is, engines, interior design for aircraft, systems, defense and aircraft equipment.

He indicated that the company they represent and that operates in Chihuahua is Safran Electrical & Power, which is within the aircraft equipment division and manufactures the wiring for Airbus and Boeing. Likewise, there is a presence in the interior with Safran Cabins.

Carlos Contreras, manager of Continuous Improvement at Safran indicated that the Electrical & Power division has 11,500 employees in 13 countries with 51 companies, among which is Chihuahua, as one of the most important points and has 31 years of experience. operation, starting in 1991 with some 30 engineers and now they are the largest employer in the aerospace industry in Mexico.

He pointed out that it has the largest ship in the world for harnesses in the aeronautical sector, in Plant two located on Avenida Nicolás Gogol in the Chihuahua Industrial Park and produces 95 percent of the harnesses of the Boeing 787 aircraft, the latest generation and key suppliers in the Business Jets branch.

Carlos Contreras indicated that Safran Electrical and Power aims to promote and generate smarter electrical solutions for better flight and for this, eight basic points have been defined.

I point out that you have to be a member and key players in the electricity, energy storage, electric motors and electronics sector, for which it is necessary to be a world leader in integrated electrical systems, to obtain the best available technologies to improve the maturity of the portfolio by seeking a more electric and hybrid-powered aircraft.

Also, it is necessary to accelerate the industrial processes aligned with Industry 4.0 to improve competitive advantages and add more value; The company seeks to generate and design aircraft diagnostic and monitoring solutions to improve their availability, reliability and flexibility.

Finally, they indicated that they seek to define, together with the designers of the aircraft, flexible electrical architectures to meet the demand of the industry that evolves in a disruptive way.

Latin America does not want to lose footprint in the aeronautical industry, so several companies are encouraged to launch innovative designs. As Mexico prepares its first military attack plane, other firms such as the Brazilian Embraer or the Argentine Petrel are firmly betting on electric planes.

To excel in aircraft manufacturing is not an easy task for any country in the world. Even so, some Latin American countries are trying not to lose footprint in the industry and in recent months they have surprised with airplanes of their own design.

Also read: Diabetes one of the main deaths in the country
Following industry trends, the new Latin American aircraft models are already making a strong commitment to lower fuel consumption, either by becoming 100% electric or by incorporating mechanisms that allow fuel consumption to be reduced.

The Brazilian ATL 100, a multipurpose that looks to the future

In 2017, former members of the traditional Brazilian aeronautical company Embraer formed Desaer, a company that, associated with Portuguese capital, has worked since its creation on the development of the ATL 100 aircraft, a twin-engine aircraft for logistics use that is designed to be able to serve both for the transport of passengers, cargo and military use.

Indeed, the aircraft is designed to transport 19 people in its passenger version or 12 paratroopers in its military version. In its cargo configuration, the aircraft is capable of carrying up to 2,500 kilos.

The novelty of the aircraft is the low cost of operation and the versatility of the aircraft. Although it does not have an electric motor, manufacturers do foresee that it can be adapted in the future to work with this type of power source.

Embraer and its four revolutionary green airplanes

Being the traditional Brazilian aircraft company does not prevent Embraer from seeking to innovate in the market, meeting the ecological demands of the moment. For this reason, at the beginning of November the firm presented 'Energía', a family of four airplanes designed to reduce pollution.

Indeed, the four planes use sustainable forms of propulsion: one is electric, another moves with the fuel cell method, another with a gas turbine and another with a hybrid system.

The development of the four aircraft was in partnership with a consortium of engineering universities, aeronautical research institutes and small and medium-sized companies, with the intention of improving energy harvesting, temperature management and their applications for sustainable propulsion.

The Brazilian company aims to have the planes ready between 2030 and 2040: the first to be available will be the hybrid, which will have nine seats and will reduce its CO2 emissions by 90%. The last, whose technology will be ready in 2040, will be the one powered by a gas turbine. With capacity for between 35 and 50 passengers, it will reduce its emissions by 100%.

The Argentine Petrel plane is converted to lithium

Argentine industry is not far behind either. Petrel, the only private aircraft manufacturer in the country, developed together with the state National University of La Plata a redesign of the Petrel 912i aircraft to be powered entirely with a lithium battery.

It is a light aircraft designed for the training of young pilots and that stands out for its low cost of operation and maintenance. With the redesign to make it electric, the aircraft will be 100% ecological and will be able to connect directly to the electrical network without losing any of the benefits of the fuel version.

Colombia already has its picturesque first electric plane

Colombia also presented its first fully electric airplane in 2021, developed by students and teachers from the Pascual Bravo University Institution.

The 'Cóndor Pascualino', as it was baptized, is a plane for a single passenger and only 11 meters wide by 5.5 meters long. Its landing gear resembles that of a tricycle and has two pedals to steer the wheels. According to its developers, it has a flight autonomy of one hour and reaches a speed of 18 meters per second.
1638189085552.png

The aircraft moves thanks to two 10-kilowatt motors, powered by two lithium batteries that can be powered through a mobile phone with Bluetooth.

Although it is a first test, the university intends to design a similar plane but with capacity for two passengers and greater flight autonomy.

The first Mexican military aircraft will arrive in 2022

Since 2015, the Mexican company Oaxaca Aerospace has presented prototype aircraft designed entirely by Mexicans. At that time, it launched the Pegasus PE-210ª model, a light aircraft for two crew members and intended for pilot training.

In 2020, it announced the development of its first aircraft for military use: the P-400T.

7 years passed before the Halcón 2 was born, the first aircraft one hundred percent designed in Mexico by Mexicans since the adventure to soar through the skies with this aircraft began with its predecessor the experimental aircraft Halcón 1 whose father is Giovanni Angelucci partner of the company Horizontec. In an exclusive interview, he announced that the first stone of the initial stage in an area of 800 square meters will be tentatively being placed in the month of November in the municipality of Celaya, until reaching a total of 2,000 square meters. There, in the future, two-seaters will be manufactured online (copilot behind the pilot) and other larger 5-seaters. But today the important thing, he said, is that the Falcon 2 make its first flights and then begin construction next year at the plant that will be located in the state of Guanajuato. https://www.milenio.com/politica/comunidad/novntación-arranca-planta-armar-avion-mexica

The E195-E2 on display shows how a regional jet equipped with the most advanced technologies and lowest fuel and noise emissions can bring a new dimension to domestic and regional travel
The E195-E2, the world's most efficient and sustainable single-aisle commercial jet, will be on display at the first edition of the Selangor Aviation Show. Shown with “TechLion” paint, which covers the entire fuselage, the E195-E2 will be at the Selangor Aviation Show after being presented at the Dubai Air Show earlier this month.

With a two-seat configuration on each side, the jet accommodates up to 146 passengers. “We are excited about Embraer's participation and sponsorship of our first Selangor Aviation Show, reflecting the company's vote of support in Selangor's aspirations to be the aviation hub of Southeast Asia,” said Dato 'Hasan Azhari, CEO of Invest Selangor Berhad.

“The E195-E2 on display shows how a regional jet equipped with the most advanced technologies and the lowest fuel and noise emissions can bring a new dimension to domestic and regional travel.” “With its new design and technology, the E195-E2 is the most efficient single-aisle aircraft in the world.

This aircraft emits 25% less emissions per seat than a typical turboprop and has the lowest levels of external noise and emissions of any jet aircraft,” said Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.

Embraer forecasts demand for 60 new commercial aircraft with less than 150 seats in Malaysia over the next 10 years

In its 2021 market outlook, Embraer forecasts demand for 60 new commercial aircraft with less than 150 seats in Malaysia over the next 10 years.

Driving this demand is the opportunity for aircraft with less than 150 seats to complement larger, predominant aircraft in the country and improve the feasibility of establishing new routes or increasing the frequency of existing routes. This includes increasing direct connectivity within the Peninsula of Malaysia, as well as connectivity between the cities of the Peninsula with the east of the country (Sabah and Sarawak).

“We believe in the potential for multiplication of domestic and regional connectivity in Malaysia. It's a win-win situation: domestic tourism thrives and passengers can travel to new destinations with the comfort of a modern commercial jet,” said Meijer.

“Airlines can use these regional jets with the assurance of their low operating costs and superior performance, along with their green credentials. Incorporating the new technologies and improved operations of the E-Jets E2 is an important step on the path to a more sustainable aviation industry.”

With a range of 2,600 nautical miles (about 5.5 hours of flight), the E195-E2 is the largest of the three aircraft in the E-Jets E2 family. It went into operation at the end of 2019, after type certification by the three main world regulatory authorities - the FAA (United States Federal Aviation Administration), EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and ANAC (Brazilian Aviation Agency) Civil).

Currently, the aircraft is operated by KLM, which has 53 Embraer E-Jets in its fleet, by Azul, which operates 55 E-Jets and flies to more than 100 destinations in Brazil, as well as airlines in Switzerland, Spain, Belarus and Nigeria.
1638190394680.png

Embraer is the world's largest manufacturer of commercial jets with a capacity for up to 150 passengers. Commercial aircraft manufactured by Embraer are being operated by more than 130 airlines in more than 70 countries, including airlines in the United States (all major), British Airways, KLM, Japan Airlines and airlines in China.

Between February 25 and March 1, Operation ASTROS XVII will take place at CLBI (Inferno Barrier Launch Center), with the launch of two tactical missiles MTC-300 (AV-TM 300) under development by Avibras.

The Port Authority has already issued a dangerous area activation message in the launch area for the foreseen period.

So far 16 test flights have been carried out. There are at least four more in the scheduling phase before pre-series production begins.

Avibras Avibras Aerospace is developing the 300 km Tactical Cruise Missile (MTC) in partnership with the Brazilian Army (EB).

The MTC-300 has a 200 kg warhead, uses a rocket engine at launch and during subsonic cruise flight, propulsion is carried out by a turbine also developed by Avibrás.

Navigation is done by a combination of inertial platform and GPS.

The weapon is at the limit of the Missile Technology Control Regime, the MTCR, to which Brazil is a signatory. The agreement restricts the maximum range of action to 300 kilometers and the warheads to 500 kilos.
