At the moment, India's numbers compare favourably with Pakistan. Thus, India has 1.3 million men and women in olive green against Pakistan's 617,000, 4,700 main battle tanks (Pakistan has 2,500), 11,300 artillery guns (4,300), 45 warships (10) and 16 conventional submarines (8). But the numbers look puny when compared to China (2.25 million soldiers, 7,500 main battle tanks, over 15,000 artillery guns, over 100 warships and 50 conventional submarines).

That upgrade was done by SA firm, And its worst kind, All the major optics are unprotected and not inbult but outside..

This is a similar upgrade on Indian T-72, But rejected..

I would say that IA should conduct trial of modified T72 from all the suppliers, including the one which is develop by DRDO and made by OFB.

with next generation BMS and Lahat/CLGM firing, arjun tank gun and Kanchan armor, it will be great tank upgrade with Arjun tank.

But Problem is same as before, These upgrades can only be applied over new Russian Chassis not the older once used by IA, So in a way we are buying a entirely new system than just upgrading old one..

Kunal sir, some of them have to be used as akash missile launchers, others can be used for different purpose. We need 3800 new tanks and later on 1800 FBMT in future. So lot of room for doing all those things.

Idea is to learn from others as to what they are doing.

I want more Arjuns and T-90s to replace these tanks..
