" It is noteworthy that France’s steadfastness as a military ally contrasts strongly with that of the United States, which does not have a good record of being a reliable supplier of military items and technologies not only to India but also to its traditional allies during crises.

The US, in the past, had also vetoed or slowed components for LCA Tejas that India is developing. It had otherwise imposed an arms embargo on India following its nuclear tests in 1998.

Though things have improved of late, the US still has reservations about the technology transfer, particularly if India is engaged in a war with some country because there are US laws that prohibit deliveries of weapons and spares during wars.

On the other hand, there have been no such restrictions from France. Of course, all these strong features in its relations with France do not necessarily guarantee that India will eventually prefer Rafale to F/A-18 jets.

But France has a strong case."

@Wisemarko whatever your efforts India is very confindent in France. We have always been reliable, efficient and determine in all the wars India has to win. France is a true ally of India.
US has never been able to proove a track record on reliability even currently when Pakistan could obtain a modernization of their F-16s

So whatever doesn’t fit your narrative is a political talk? Haha. Ok homie whatever…

Rafale is a failed 4th generation fighter which only third world nations and corrupt Caliphates are buying.
A so failed fighter that Bill Clintan said "we must kill the Rafale", paving the way for the JSF now F35 (or, using your own words, Failed 35 ?)

Even that promise is more promising than your obsolete Rafale 😂
Now Dassault is running around for FCAS because 100% French, NATO and independent simulations show F-35 knocking out Rafale (and all other 4th Gen) like flies
Show us these independent simulations please.
No? Why not?
Just because it's just an invention of your illness brain maybe.

It is probably why USAF ordered and will order new F15 and probably F16....

If Rafale is a gen 4.99, F15 and F16 are gen 4.000001

Strangely India don't want the F35.... so sad.

Strangely the country facing a REAL war purchase Rafale instead of F35 : Egypt and Greece (all facing a dangerous Turkey), India, Qatar, even UAE (against Iran).

Strangely the counrty that have to pay the pizzo for US defense umbrella or just to have the right to trade with USA purchase F35 : Swiss (what a joke), Belgium, NL, Finland, South Korea ....

Macron put focus on US reliability :
"Put yourself in my shoes," the French president pleaded. "Nobody contacted me when the IRA (Inflation reduction Act) was under discussion," he continued, asking to be "respected as a good friend." "Maybe this law will solve your problem, but you will increase my problem," assured the French head of state, who warned that "many jobs will be destroyed" if there is no coordination between Europe and the United States. "

To bad for the US everyone is questionning your reliability !!!!

Next gen European fighter on track :
Dassault and Airbus found this day an agreement on NGF, the bird of the FCAS program
Lol, FCAS is badly needed because both EF Rafale are obsolete and need replacement. You can spin as much as you want 4.5, 4.6…. 4.9999 whatever.

You will find some sellouts in every country to buy your stuff. But anytime there was a technical evaluation- you lost 100%. We will end here, your Macron is eating superior American Cheese right now.

This is the result of the technical evaluation :

Pilot had an error message during flight. The error message is under investigation. One more problem... among the 800 others.

Currently Biden is earing Macron and on the way to make modifications on the IRA law. Why ?
Because more and more country in Europe are questionning the alliance with US and compare with their chinese commercial partner. The other example is Germany with BASF.
https://www.ft.com/content/d10a2164-b447-4bcf-9e01-e297a5fb423c (Dutch minister defends trade links with China, 1er décembre 2022)
A senior Dutch minister defended the country's deep trade ties with China and pledged not to impose excessive restrictions on high-tech exports as the Biden administration pushes its European partners to harden their stance on Beijing.

Micky Adriaansens, the minister of economy, said the Netherlands remains "very positive" about its relationship with China, saying Dutch companies in China are driving innovation and trade.

As the U.S. pushes its partners to tighten controls on high-end semiconductor equipment exports to China, she insisted that the Netherlands and Europe "should have our own strategy."

"We have to think about it - what are the risks of doing business with China with respect to specific products and value chains," she told the Financial Times. "In general, in the Netherlands, we are very positive and have always been positive about good relations with China. We do a lot of business with China. Many Dutch companies are working there."

China accounts for 11 percent of Dutch imports, just behind Germany, and about 5 percent of exports.

The minister said the relationship provides "a real boost to innovation and trade, which is fundamental for Europe. We should cherish that too.

The remarks appear to be at odds with comments by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said this week that he sees a "growing convergence" between the United States and its allies on China. Blinken's comments follow the U.S. decision in October to impose strict export controls to slow China's ability to develop and prevent it from obtaining advanced semiconductors that could be used for military purposes.

Adriaansens declined to comment on the likely timeline for the semiconductor negotiations, saying it was "not a simple yes or no," but a review of many aspects of a very complex production process. "We have to be very clear about which aspect of the production process is the most important issue with respect to China," she argued.

"The Netherlands and Europe must have their own strategy," she said, when asked about negotiations with the United States. At the same time, they must be aware of the risks regarding "specific technologies." "It's not about doing too much, but on the other hand, it's not about unlocking doors when security is the primary concern - it's a balancing act," she added.

She also warned that it may not be possible to stop China from acquiring advanced technologies. "The development cycle is very fast in China. We should not be naive."

Adriaansens said separate U.S. moves to provide large subsidies to domestic companies for green technology were of concern to The Hague.

The EU has said much of the $369 billion in tax breaks and support under the Inflation Reduction Act is discriminatory and violates global trade rules, and is in talks with Washington.

Adriaansens said, "The Inflation Reduction Act has an impact on industry and the economy of the Netherlands and the EU as a whole. Combined with lower energy prices, it would discourage investors and damage the competitiveness of European companies.

The minister added that the West must have a level playing field and a "same set of rules". She compared the situation to the upcoming World Cup match with the United States. "We would like to have the same goal size and the same lines on the field in both halves".

France’s Rafale jets are frontrunner in race for Indian Navy contract

Forward movement by the Indian Navy would mean that the proposal for more Rafale jets for the IAF is also likely to gather speed.
