Ask in appropriate thread.

Since you are a newbie, don't spread misinformation ask or read.

Mig 29s played crucial role in providing air dominance with BVR missiles during Kargil which let Mirages /Mig 27s operate freely without fear of any Porky F-16s .

Sorry sir i thought that it was an appropriate thread, but it turn out to be a wrong one since we don't have a specialise one for mig 29. Anyway Thanks for the information. What are the bbr missile mig 29 carries during kargil, I don't see any role of mig 29 during balacot but unfortunately it's not the right thread... Sorry again. Guruji...

Unconfirmed, but according to Indonesian press, the contract for 36 Rafales has been signed :).

You can select a translation into English from the website.
It's not a firm contract yet. Some things must be dealed, mainly offsets, before to ink a deal in december 2021.

I'll believe it when I see a Rafale in Indonesian AF colors. They have been bargaining with nearly EVERYONE on the globe for fighters, brand new, second hand, in development, you name it. Nothing has come out of it so far.

I find it incredibly strange that they would go for 36 Rafales when they can't pay their dues for the KF-21 Boramae that they're supposed to be partners on with KAI.

This is one reson why nothing was said officially from the french govt or Dassault.
They all are waiting for a firm and definitive contract AND a fist payment !

What is the reason that Rafale “usurps” the Su-30MKI in the Indian Air Force?

And that's why Tejas Mk2 is the need of the hour. I'm pretty sure the chineses will use their J10s to counter our MKIs instead using their Su27 or J16s. From the looks of it i think J10's frontal section has a very low RCS and to counter that we definitely need MK2s in numbers. I hope IAF order atleast 200 of MK2s.

They are reluctant to pay the koreans cuz koreans are reluctant to share some of the critical tech know hows. KFX will be much more advance than Rafael and they already invested like $300 million already. Anyway have anyone here has any idea of how much we have spend on the development of Uttam cuz yesterday a article i read and they're (koreans) saying that they have spent more than $350 million just to develop the AESA radar for KFX which have 1022 TR modules

108. That should be 6 squadrons. 2-3 MiG 21 squadrons can be replaced by these with 3 newly raised ones. I think the new Rafale order will be of the F4 type. Which means 2024 onwards delivery.

Qatar ordered Rafale before India.... So when you inked the deal you know that Qatar, a close anny to pak will be Rafale equipped.
India has the possibility to become, for years, the first export customer of Rafale. You may then have the possibility to ask that no Rafale can be exported to your direct potential ennemy.

I don't think that the IAF views Qatar as an enemy. Yes they do have Pakis working directly in their Air Force due to the shortage of personnel overall, but there was a clause inserted by the French on India's insistence to not allow Pakis to fly Rafales in Qatari service.

As such, it'll only give the Pakis a good idea on how good the Rafale really is and how big a threat it is to their mediocre JF-17s and their F-16s.

Developing tactics against the Rafale and Meteor is a natural process of that. I don't think that there's much that can be done about that.

IAF's experience with Western Air Forces, especially the RSAF gave lots of insights that helped developed anti-AMRAAM tactics which is why no Su-30MKI was shot down despite 4-5 AMRAAMs being fired at them.
