They don't understand that Rafale and Tejas are dor different roles. I.e. strike and point defence. Rafale will do what Mirages did in Balakot and Tejas, what MiG 21 did on 27th Feb.
It's a massive point defence failure as well.

France Advises India, Qatar To Keep Pakistan Origin Technicians Away From Rafale Jets
After a deal that had been in the works for long, India and France agreed upon delivering 36 Rafale fighter jets to India, from their Dassault Aviation company. As part of the deal, France has already delivered two batches of 5 jets each and they have also been inducted into the Indian Air Force. The rest of the aircraft would be delivered in phases, as agreed upon, in the deal. Now, fearing India's increased air superiority, Pakistan had reportedly approached France for upgrading the Mirage aircraft that they had earlier purchased from them. However, in recent times, Pakistan's relationship with France has been on rocky terms after the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had been openly criticising the French President Emmanuel Macron, over his statements on the recent terrorist attacks in their country.

Media reports state that France had snubbed Pakistan's request for the Mirage upgradation and refused to cooperate. Pakistan had also requested for upgradation to their submarines but that request had also been declined. As a response to this, as well as to India's rising security concerns, France has now issued directions to keep all Pakistani origin technicians, away from the Rafale fighter jets, under the export control regime. These directions have also been issued to other nations which have purchased the Rafale jets, especially Qatar, not to allow any Pakistani origin technicians to work on the Rafale planes. Sources state that France fears for technical information leaks to Islamabad happening, if any Pakistan origin technicians work on the Rafale planes.

India is said to have raised these security concerns to France, as the Rafale jets have now become a part of our country's frontline defences. There have also been reports of Pakistan sharing vital defence data with China in the past and these have come together in France issuing such a directive. India's Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla recently visited France on October 29th and he was then assured by the French Government that it was sensitive to the security concerns of its ally (India) and also informed him of this decision to not allow any Pakistani origin technicians to work on the Rafales.

Something is wrong. Why would India??? be asked to keep Pakistani origin technicians away from the Rafale.

Greece is happy no doubt to acquire Rafales. But they know it's not enough to deter Turkey. So now they are asking Washington for second hand F-35s preferrably by next year.

It is mainly a political move : a blow to the turkish face to purchase the previously turkish F35.

and don't forget one sentence : "It’s important to note that a LOR does not imply that Greece will definitely acquire the F-35 "

You may expect a VERY GOOD DISCOUNT !
We can buy that many aircrafts but we won’t coz it will take thousands of years to complete the order😸.

More Rafales are coming. It's a given . Just that ACM Bhaduria cannot pronounce it publicly . After all that Rafale tamasha we have seen , people in the know and the powers be are cautious about what what they say in public .

Check out the patch besides his right brest zipper.

It's not just a political move. With Syria, then Lybia, and Nagorno-Katabakh, Turkey is flexing it's muscle in strategic places and the Aegean and Mediterrenian control is a very strategic area for Turkey. Already Turkey is asking for the partition of Cyprus. So no doubt Turkey is preparing for a military assault on Greek intetests. And that's what's worrying Greece. The F-35 is the best weapon available that will deter Turkey. Anything short than that is a green light for Turkey to be militarily aggressive. Rafale is not going to be enough.

Turkey is a frog thinking it is a beef.
The army suffered a hard purge some years ago. The lira is falling. The economy is falling. It's not the right moment for an attack.

On the other side, 18 to 24 F35, as 18 to 24 Rafale are not enough to defend yourself.

In the case Turkey attack Greece, it all the NATO that will help Greece, France at the first role. It would be so nice to kick the muslim ass of Adolf Erdogan.

We wouldn't have had this problem (of low numbers) had the IAF been farsighted enough to say we need an F-16 class plane when LCA was being designed, and had been involved with the designers and HAL since day 1. The whole idea of fitting F-16/ Mirage 2000 like capabilities in the size of a MiG 21 is outrageous. Had the LCA succeeded in time, then by now we would be flying the LCA Mk2 in numbers, and any shortfall in A2A or A2G weapons could have been made up with imports for the time being while DRDO was working on domestic options. Such lack of farsightedness and penny pinching to hand out freebies in the name of gaon-gareeb-kisaan has cost us like anything.
