Aviation week, April 9:
Google translated from:Brasilia - In the bilateral meeting between Brazil and India, Hyderabad House, the Indian government informed the President Rousseff that if she opts for the purchase of Rafale fighters, similar to what India did, the Indians are interested in establishing a technology partner with Brazilians to set up a joint project of technology transfer. According to the offer, the Indian government's willingness to transfer the information they receive in relation to the Rafale, and the three countries - Brazil, India and France (the airplane manufacturer) could then work together in a project technology partnership.
http://livefist.blogspot.de/2012/03/...m-for-mig.htmlBrahMos Corp. is looking to develop a new anti-ship missile with a smaller diameter and lighter weight than the present BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. The proposal, tentatively called BrahMos-3, is aimed at putting together a potent anti-ship/anti-surface missile for the Indian Navy's MiG-29K and IAF MMRCA.
Revealing plans for the BrahMos-3 today at Defexpo, BrahMos CEO Dr A. Sivathanu Pillai said the first test-firing of a BrahMos from a modified Su-30MKI (modifications by HAL) would take place by early next year.
They may not want to make it themselves, but will still need significant ToT for maintenance and repairs. This would work only if Brazil also goes in for licence manufaturing of Rafale jets
Is Brazil also wanting to go in for Licence manufacture and TOT or are they just buying it
OFF the shelf
For 60 odd aircraft Brazilians would not bother for
having a brand new assembly line to be able to engage in the Licence manufacturing of Rafale
of course ,do u think india is spending 14-16billion dollars on buying this jet for granted ,Yes it would benefit india in it's LCA & it's future fightershey doc whether Transfer of Tech will give excess to all tech of all sensors of the Rafale, will they be useful for LCA or other fighters?
Doc you are optimistic, but only time will tellof course ,do u think india is spending 14-16billion dollars on buying this jet for granted ,Yes it would benefit india in it's LCA & it's future fighters
The flight test campaign began last fall. Flights are conducted by Rafale C101, B301 and M02. Wind tunnel testing was completed in February at Onera facilities. Meanwhile, the software development on Rafale has also started. With a field of fire doubled to Mica, the software for the Meteor will include new "aid to fire" for long-range engagements. The integration should be continued until 2016. Commissioning is still scheduled for 2018 but could be advanced in 2016 at the request of an export customer.
