F16 was not among L1 or L2 during MMRCA trials. IAF judge the F16 agility too poor in the high and hot conditions of this field. It is very well documented.

As always, the strengh of US birds is low cast thanks to high numbers (as russian products). When you only compare technical performance, as MMRCA, results are differents.

Expecting 2024 for the first news of SABR with GaN. The power and cooling modules need to be reworked due to high power and heat from GaN currently barely enough for GaA. APG-81 work is simpler but current version is powerful already, and with 1000 plus orders in, interest to reveal the upgrade is low.

With F-18 block III now coming off with GaN radars from Raytheon, there is a pressure at Northrop to match the SABR offering.
