Being a CODAD ship, I don't think it will be part of the CBG as it simply cannot keep pace with gas turbine powered VKD, Shivalik and Kolkata.
Since when is VKD gas powered ??
Cruise speed of the CBG is 18. But ya it may not be able to keep up in cases of emergency..

Also, I think ideally ASW ships would have a forward deployment than other ships? May be some expert can put a bit light to the ideal IN CBG formation and deployment structure?

Forum members have been pointing out deficiencies in the Kamorta viz AShW and AAW capabilities as well as its sea legs because of its CODAD config.

Any reference to whether the follow on order of +8 will have enhanced capabilities?

BTW the Kamorta has a sexy silhouette.

Kamorta Class are meant for littoral operations in EEZ, not Blue Water operations.

Kamortas will be used to sanitize the area before a cvbg leaves to ensure no enemy sub is lurking around. It does not need to go out alone. They will most likely go with the khukris or other frigate when they have to go for blue water ops.

The replenishment ship in CBG too is slow and has a speed of 20 knots. So, you say not to take tanker/replenish-er along?

Shoddy metal work on the cladding. Same with the Shivaliks and Kolkata. Welding issue?
Foreign boats have smooth cladding.
