No one ever claimed K9 to be Indian. That's why its 'Make in India' not 'Made in India'. Hope you know the difference between both and stop crying.

Foreign companies will continue to take advantage of us as long as we refuse to use ToT as an opportunity to pick up skills and venture into 100% indigenous design. So many years we have never progressed from screwdriver tech because no initiative is taken to study the tech in depth and understand it from an engineering standpoint. It is slowly changing (DRDO used FH-77B blueprints for Dhanush and ATAGS) but import mindset is deeply set.

OFB made Dhanush not drdo, And ATAGS has no connection with F77.

Western front. along Punjab and Rajasthan areas. As a part of armoured thrust of cold start plans, they will maintain mobility of Tanks. What use tanks in mountains of NE. ULH/M777 are needed there

Not saying that the above stated is not a possible use case....But i think, K9 Vajra was aquired specifically to be used from the semi mountian terrain of LAC and LOC , where the biggest artillary duels between India and Pak are taking place nowadays........

Also remember, K9 is a Self propelled Howitzer and not a Tank.....Bofors (a Howitzer) and other Arti played a big role in our victory in Kargil and it was all mountain terrian..

The Korean version of K9 was used very successfully by South Korea against North and it was all mountain terrian.....

These K9s act in a pack (like wolf pack) of six....A battery of Six K9s fire togather completely saturating and area target, and quickly scatter in all directions, so that they can't be targetted by enemy counter Arty....Shoot & Scoot is what K9 excels at it's where it has an edge on pieces like Bofors or Dhanush.....Also it has an automatic refill vehicle..

Also, one of the deadly features of K9 is MRSI(Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact)...With the help of onboard ballistic computer the K9 can fire 3 shells (diffrent trajectories), in 15 secs, which all land at same place same time.....This feature can be very useful for destroying area targets like Terrorist camps, Gun positions or enemy bunkers or troop concentrations.......This is a very very good and proven platform all across the world!!!

What I meant is that it is a tracked Gun. Tracked vehicles like tanks and bmps are best used in open and sandy dessert terrain. Towed artillery and truck Mounted Gun Systems can't keep up with tanks in dessert. They get stuck in sand .( Reason why they have armored recovery vehicles on tank hulls/ Akash on tank hulls / TUNGUSKA on tracked hull) so that they can keep up with tanks.

So while Vajra is not a tank, it had tracks becoz it supposed to match mobilty of tanks in dessert areas
